You are eligible to apply for a voluntary cancellation if you have flight bookings to/from Japan, Korea, and Taiwan OR if you are travelling on a flight between Thailand and India made before 8th March 2020 and for travel before 30th April 2020.
- Select "COVID-19" from AVA's main menu
- Select "COVID-19 Voluntary Cancellations"
- Select either "Credit Account" or "Move Flight"
- Proceed to the next steps as instructed by AVA
So no refund. You can only credit account or move postpone your flight.

I tried to get AirAsia to refund me the airport taxes… They never replied or probably entertained the thought.
They do have an Indian hotline to handle Indian flights though. Have you called them?

I had to cancel a flight and only got the airport taxes back. You can apply for it online…

No, getting a refund from Airasia is like blood from a stone..
I've just has to let six flights go, as it cost more to change the dates than do nothing.
If I'm lucky I'll get the airport tax back but even that isn't easy from other comments I've read.
Anyone had any luck getting refund from Airasia after they cancelled the flight.
Only gave me flight credits after 3 months of trying.
I tried to get a refund. Was given a case number with status closed and no other information. The chat was totally useless, waiting time more than 1 hour 45 minutes and timed out. Anyone successful getting a credit card chargeback?
hopefully you got your refund by now.. i got mine refunded through cc chargeback. i am with virgin money.
Not yet. Bankwest did not want to entertain airline ticket chargeback.
Looks like AirAsia is restructuring / in receivership. Possibly all flight credit is gone.
