I don't think so. Overload protection is to stop the wires getting hot and catching on fire if you load more than 10A onto the board. Surge protection is for protecting your devices from surges/lightning.
Overload is plugging a kettle, toaster and microwave in and turning on at the same time and the powerboard clicks and the little plastic button pops out to stop you drawing too much current and melting the thing.
Surge protection is lightning/power spikes from outside the home, and this unit definitely does not have this (it would state it on the pack as other Jackson boards do). This is fine for bits and pieces around the house like lamps, electric throw blankets, fishtank stuff.

I've purchased this powerboard to replace an Arlec branded board that I bought from Bunnings. It's built with better quality plastic and the button gives a resounding click!

I bought 3 of these previously, after a few months 1 switch is no longer working in 2 of those 3 power board. I should have kept the receipt so i can send it back for warranty.
Bought one today with a markdown to $5 while others were still at full price on the shelf… weird.

The 6 port model PT1816 says it is surge protected, but explicitly says on the packaging "Warning: This product does not offer protection against direct lightning strikes."
