The cheapest I've seen, good to see more competition from Xiaomi and Huawei. Enjoy !

Anyone used this phone before?
I notice a lot of phones these days have 8GB of RAM, but my OG pixel has 4GB (like this phone) and seems to run pretty smooth.
Wondering if this will be the same as a newer phone?
EDIT: No NFC on this phone which is a shame, but still seems like a very good phone, especially for the price
RAM specifications are being pushed up because there's nothing else to set devices apart - not performance reasons.
It's getting to the point of moronic stupidity with the current flagship Android devices having 16GB of RAM which is more than what a desktop computer requires.
Again, nothing to do with performance.
It does affect performance it you load a lot of apps at once. But for day to day tasks you won't notice anything.
It's also because RAM price keeps dropping.
I only buy a new phone every few years. Always bang for buck option. The specs probably double each time. But my usage never changes, and I'd really have to think about the realistic feel difference. Yes, snappier. But, meh. Not life changing. Never close apps, always 20+ tabs open on chrome. Use the phone every 10min or so, if I took a guess. Never game
@Ulysses31: Thanks for the info everyone!
Figured it'd be more of a one-eyed snake measuring contest between manufacturers to see who has the most RAM.
I guess it can be relatively beneficial to some (mostly if you're gaming), but for most people it won't make a difference.
@Ulysses31: Your usage not changing doesn't mean software isn't evolving to make use of the better hardware. Andoird with less than 2gb ram is pretty unusable these days
@Teebytok: my old y550 has 512mb and is working just fine, manufactures like samsung like to compete on ram size because guess what, they are one of the 3 big DRAM manufacturers, and they make profit from selling memory, that's the real reason.
having 16GB of RAM which is more than what a desktop computer requires.
I dunno, I installed a few cities skyline mods the other day. Good times :p
Great for Android v Apple debates though. Morons love quoting Android RAM.
Bummer No NFC once used to it it is so handy!
Huawei has fast ram endless speedtests on youtube prove that 4 GB is mostly enough. Hope Band 28 works!
Band 28 is fine on this phone. My other half has it. No issues.
Great phone. Awesome build quality and decent performance. This is a very competitive price point, though.
anyone know if jb hi fi price match Amazon?got jb gift card
Usually do
Yes they do, if the product is prime but they say they need to add shipping and the shipping is over $7, tell them that prime only costs $7 and they'll count that as the shipping cost.
thanks guys!will try
dual sim? looks like it
Sim Card Type: Card slot 1: nano-SIM card, Card slot 2: nano-SIMoh i wish the screen is at least 6.5"
2nd sim slot is hybrid. Means you can only use it either as sim slot or as memory card slot. But not both.
great price on a decent spec phone but isnt it cheaper here? +delivery
Nova 5t can be bought for 400 for those to consider.
Yes, Nova 5T is a better choice.
The phone upgraded all deficits of P30 Lite.
Much faster CPU - Kirin 980 same as P30 Pro.
Double ram (8GB) to P30 lite (4GB)
One more macro camera which is the main deficit of P30 lite camera systemCould u pls post link?
thanks! got a 5t
$80/25% more money.
So then the conversation gets complicated fast, on what to buy.
NFC alone is worth that to me. I use Google Pay for pretty much everything now.
P30 has NFC though?
@RocketSwitch: not the lite vers see above! Bummer!
@payless69: Damn, no deal!
How does this compare to any of the Xiaomi phones around the same price segment?
Yeah, is this better than the Mi 9T?
I would say Mi 9T is better. Check this comparison I pre-filled for you.
[Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 VS Xiaomi Mi 9T Comparison] (https://www.kimovil.com/en/compare/huawei-y9-prime-2019,xiao…)It a more expensive phone… And yes, better.
Y9 Prime isn't the same as a P30 Lite. Same CPU though.
P30 Lite is more compact, better built and has a better camera than the Y9. Y9 has a bigger battery and screen.Mi 9T is faster and has an AMOLED screen (although the Huaweis are using very good IPS panels). But it should be for the price difference. Both great phones at their prices.
Mi9T.
Huawei dont have the best track of updates, especially for the lower teir phones.
Mi9T flash with a custom rom or Xiaomi EU. Huawei custom rom support is very crap.I'm on a P20 Pro - still haven't got Android 10.
Spec-wise, the phone in this deal is pretty much equivalent to a Nova 3i I believe.
@Make it so: You should have it by now, I'm fairly sure. Check through the Hicare app, as it updates earlier than the android updater.
@Erwark: Hope. It says "your software is up to date". EMUI 9.1
If I go through the HiCare app, it simply launches the normal "software update" checker.@Make it so: Damn! It does look to open the normal software centre, but it does seem to access the update before it comes through the normal way.
@Make it so: You could be right.
No NFC if that happens to be a dealbreaker for you.
anyone concerned about the ban stuff from 2019 re google apps etc or just keep using and not care, as these prices are so good!!
This article seems to clarify the issue:
https://www.pocket-lint.com/phones/news/huawei/148102-what-d…Particularly sections: "What does it mean for existing Huawei devices?"
And "What does it mean for future devices?"Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro onwards wont have Google
Goodguys doing 20% off instor same as there eBay stor I’m in one
And just got told but even with the 20% off like eBay my prices are at least another 20% cheaperWait, what? im confused
I’m in a goodguys stor and there doing 20% off like good guys eBay
You had been in there for more than 2.5 hours! And what's with no "e" at the end of "store"?
@strangeloops66: I was I. There for 40min I had to pick up something and was told 20% off store wide like eBay goodguys
@Dex38313: what does at least another 20% off mean?
@028: I ask for a better price then the 20% off
I usually get at least another 20%
If it’s $199 - 20% = $159 but I usually get down to $120@Dex38313: so how much you paid for p30 lite?
This or a packet of stale biscuits?
The phone probably won't taste as nice as the biscuits
this phone definitely won't crumble when you dunk it in a cup of tea
Personally I would go for the Xiaomi Mi 9T $399 or $379 OW price beat, unless your budget is around $300 and can’t stretch a bit further.
Second it, recently got one from OW with price beat and further 5% off. Absolutely great deal.
It says the code can't be applied to my order. Is it expired already?!
Looks like Amazon have price matched.
