Nice! Just trying to find more information on the V12 upcoming release. Where did you hear about this?
Dyson has been releasing new model every year around late Mar/April :)
Will the V12 come with Touch Bar and 5G?
@VerticallyIntegrated: I only use at home so would be fine with just a WiFi version
@VerticallyIntegrated: nope, just with 100x zoom and 512gb.
Ok, so although it isn't 100% confirmed, based on previously model releases it is safe to assume the V12 will come out soon.
I'm always curious what they might add/change/improve on new models. No band 28 no deal
@living4music: No eARC and ATMOS, no deal.
We got a memo at work (retailer) that Dyson is making their announcement in April so we should clear all older models if possible.
They are not going to go with V20?
maybe v11 pro?
I don't think new models have brought down the prices of old ones at all.
you're right. It will lead to price creep, so one day V20 will be $2000+.
edit- eBay gift card use instead for me :) thanks op
What?
Great price but not worth the hassles with the Good Guys.
Shipping took 6 weeks for an ("in-stock") item and C&C (in SA) took more then a day and at collection they refused to give me the items without Paypal payment ID while I paid with credit card.I had the exact same experience with Good Guys collection, they refused to give me items without Paypal payment ID when I paid with credit card. After talking with the manager for 15 minutes and showing him my license, multiple other forms of ID and the purchase email he let me take the item. Was way more hassle then it was worth.
Yep - same thing happened to me today. For C&C they needed a PayPal payment ID, despite paying with credit card on eBay.
Had to call up eBay to retrieve the PayPal ID (not shown in emails). eBay Agent was surprised that TGG was not able to process the eBay collection code (provided in emails).
Staff at TGG told me their system didn't have a way to process the eBay collection code.
does it come with an anus cleaning attachment?…..i have no toilet paper.
No worries mate, comes with a 'Crevice tool' attachment.
Oh, that’s what it’s for!
haha…
Make sure you use the boost mode for best experience.
And don't forget the "Stubborn dirt brush"….
Yeww finally got one!
this comes with a Bonus V11 Dok valued at $149.
Just wondering if you can claim it through The GG ebay. You should be able to, since you receive a standard TGG invoice when you C&C.
I know it's free, but I'm guessing it'd be pretty pointless for most people that own the property they live in.
Good for renters though. Why is that? I thought the dok needs to be nailed into the wall hence not feasible for renters?
The standard bracket that they all come with needs to be screwed into the wall, this one is freestanding.
The V10 dok is superior.
good deal. This model has never been discounted before.
I got a V11 about a year ago and have found it excellent until recently. In the past 3-6 months the battery has gone from 25 mins at full suction to about 8 mins before needing a full charge. I use it once a week for about 25 mins.
I doubt the battery efficiency.effectiveness is covered under warranty (even ACL) due to weasel words etc so I caution those of you who may be tempted to but expecting the battery will last 2-3+ years before dying out.
Do u insert it into the holder and have it charging all the time? That will most likely be the problem. We only charge ours when it needs to be charged.
So when you're not charging it do you turn off power to the holder? I don't mind products that are explicitly non-smart or inconvenient (except my vornado fan that has no remote control and can't be automated in any way…), but smart/convenient electronics really bug to me when they require inconvenient steps like making sure not to leave it on its charging stand to preserve battery health
if that's truth then that would be very annoying, but luckily I think the battery technology has advanced and I have my v10 on charge all the time and doesn't have a problem. If anything, I just give dyson a call, explain the problem and they will just send you a brand new battery. Did this when my old v6 failed.
@Frozensage: Yeah, Dyson are very good for warranty support. I had a V6 motor die - made a horrible noise. Got me to play the sound over the phone. They sent out a new motor unit the next day.
it stops charging when full, like your toothbrush or phone.
I have a V10 that has been constantly charging on the holder for 2 years, no problem.
Please check the mode you are using as it might be running in boost power mode by the sounds of it as that will kill the battery big time and is not needed for most cleaning jobs… Eco does a fantastic clean still… For an example please refer to estimate run times:
- 80 minutes – Stick mode, Torque Drive cleaning head, eco power mode
- 8 minutes – Stick mode, Torque Drive cleaning head, boost power mode
If you are only getting 8min in say eco mode I would give Dyson a call as there support is fantastic and you might even find they will replace the battery for you IF there is any issues but I'm thinking as you are seeing 8min it lines up with what boost mode would be so that might be the cause of the trouble perhaps… (even if you are not selecting it and if for some reason the cleaning is detecting that automatically again give Dyson support a call they will sort it out for you!
P.S. I don't have the V11 myself but my V6, V8's have been fantastic.. a friend has had the V11 for close to a year and uses it a few times a week and I've just checked with them no change in battery life so far…
Good luck!
I run at the highest suction setting of the three available, whatever marketing term that is. I realize this load uses more juice but I also find my carpets need it and it’s far more time efficient. Plus, why would it originally do 25mins in full suction mode out of the box and a year later only offer a third of the battery life?
I lave it recharging permanently. I don’t expect unplugging after a full recharge will make much difference but will give it a shot.
Just a guess, but heat kills Li-ion batteries. Wouldn't be surprised if the highest setting gets hot
Confirming what Jonc said. You must have been running it on the medium power to get a runtime like 25min.
Edit: Just checked mine and it said it would run for 13min on boost mode, so maybe a replacement battery would help a bit.
Dyson warranty is very good, i have had them replace batteries over a year after the warranty expired. Worth a try to call them
2-year guarantee Dyson will send you a new battery
Could anyone provide me with some feedback as to whether this product or Dyson Vacuums in general are worth their prices? I've just heard of a lot of negative opinions from my friends about them (say, compared to Miele Vacuums). Thank you!
I've got a Dyson V6 and Miele C3.
The Dyson wins hands down for me. Once you go cordless/bagless, you can't go back. The only downside is that it's not as powerful as the Miele and you have to empty it more often as the compartment fills up quickly.
But I'm sure the V11 solves all my V6 problems. Its always handy to spot clean without lugging shit around. I only bring out the Miele when I want to use space saver bags and the odd deeper clean here and there.Cheers for the detailed response mate.
I prefer bagged for the reasons you mentioned. I hate having to empty the can and clean it. Bagged is less maintenance, no battery, and more power.
i have no regrets after 4 years with them. currently have v6 absolute. our house is 90% hardwood floor and the "fluffy" head attachment was mind blowing compared to our old vacuum. If this dies I would buy the newest version. I would note I did get a replacement motor sent out free as a small fracture looked like it was occurring in the handle (and it is one piece), and they have sent me free filters as well. good customer service and I prefer to go direct over via goodguys as they usually resolve it anything on the phone that call.
Cheers for the detailed response mate.
they're good, but for the prices they go for, I would they are hard to justify.
Maybe look into the lower models like V7 or V8 which are about half this price. This is better but you can buy two of those for the price of one of these.
Cheers for the detailed response mate.
Along with the other posters, we also have a V6 and have loved it. Find that the battery lasts enough for our old 3BR house and current 1BR flat, but the former only if we rushed! Would absolutely buy another, newer model if this one died, but have had it for 2.5 years with no noticeable battery ageing.
I would recommend checking out the Dyson eBay refurb deals. Ours was a refurb and so was a few of our friends that we recommended to, and we all agree that it must be a new device - no way it could be refurb. Not a scratch or speck of dust on the whole thing. I read a comment online a while ago that they mark the old (but unused) models as refurb to get away with dropping the price when wanting to clear old stock? Or something like that. A great and much cheaper alternative!
Cheers for the detailed response mate.
Can you apply shopback/Cashback with the e-bay code?
Also, don't forget to claim your DOK : https://discoverdyson.com.au/dok/
Wow, Thanks a lot!
According to Shopback terms: "As of 28th October 2019, Any purchases made with the use of Coupon / Voucher Codes are not eligible for Cashback"
I tried it anyways see if it gets recognised.
How do you upload a receipt to claim the DOK when bought from EBay …
You will get a printed receipt with your delivery/Click and Collect.
How do you claim 28 Degrees price protection against eBay with a coupon?
What do you mean? You just claim it as usual. Put in the sale price as final checkout amount.
Take a screenshot of the price with coupon applied just in case, I find they don't usually ask for it anyway.
Thanks I'll give it a go!
Success! Got $300 back!
Thank you OP. Just got a V7 Animal earlier this week, but couldn't resist this deal… :')
I purchased a refurbished V10 last year it is great. I found the V11 was just too heavy, even the V10 is a bit on the heavy side. Im hoping next V12 will go lighter not more power/battery life like previous iterations as i think the current V11 is fine in those respects just too heavy.
Are there any differences on the actual vacuum itself between the different v11 absolute models or are the differences only in the attachments? I'm talking about between the v11 absolute, absolute pro, absolute pro plus, etc.
V11 185AW
V11 Pro & Pro+ 220AWMore powerful
Thanks. Shame they're exclusive to the Dyson store as they don't do decent deals.
never owned a dyson product in my life, frankly at this point i dont know if its actually that good or its all the hype and brand name like apple…
Becos of the Dyson cordless handheld, we no longer need an ancient vacuum cleaner…take what you may of my statement. I guess you really can’t be missing out if you don’t know about it (or try it).
if you don't care about cordless, I'd get a bagged vac.
I emailed Kogan to price match and they kindly replied to tell me to bugger off…I was planning on using my $500 Kogan VISA card credit…oh well.
Just snagged one. Thank you !
Been waiting for a good deal to replace DC59 - bought one. Thanks!
Thanks OP, I was thinking of getting the Dyson V7 but after watching the reviews and comparisons, decided to pull the trigger on this. Hopefully the battery will last as long as most owners claim
Finally! Grabbed this one, thanks to the OP.
Thanks OP! That was a decent deal to replace my old DC59.
Picked up one @Fyshwick ACT. Store staff was surprised by this price.
ooh.. just went and got the Torque drive one ($720)! leeeegeeeend!!!!!
And it's here! Time to get that do(c)k!
Hmm this or wait for the v12…
Finally replacing DC59. Recently switched to timber floorboard = fluffy head!
woo! just picked up one too.
i only buy when deals get over 100 votes!Go in on that!!! Wash close to pull ting trigger yesterday on a torque for 899 but BingLee wouldn’t price match TGG. Lucky me. Chur OP
Does anyone know will JB Hi-Fi price match The good guys Ebay store?
Retail margins are so thin on Dyson products, that unless there is a rebate for the store of some sort… your chances are very low.
Great deal. I picked one up - don’t forget to register your 2 year warranty and get the free Dok online!
I registered it online, how do you get the free dok? We’ve just attached to the wall though so is there any point in it?
Picked mine up this morning, click and collect was super fast.
Love love love it, can’t wait until it’s fully charged, with our dog we need to vacuum every day but were only doing once a week. Did a quick test run and it was amazing,
Just spoke to the Dyson Australia office and the girl said that If you are looking at buying a Dyson V11 and wanting the latest model you would not be disappointed waiting the next couple of weeks for the new product announcements..
Now what do I make of that??? Was already to order this deal.. They may have made the unit lighter as it is heavy compared to previous models.. Anybody heard anything ??? Thanks in advance
Yeah they will probably release another one soon. But you’re likely having to wait a while for it to go on sale. It’s honestly not very heavy. My two year old was carrying it all around the house when we brought it home this morning and without having any part of it on the ground.
Given what they've done the last 2 years they will likely release the V12 in March or early April, but this will be around $1200, so depends on whether you're willing to spend another $400 over the V11 for the latest version.
click and collect doesn't seem to be working for me. I select the item and the location, add it to cart but then it only lets me post the item.
If anyone ordered click and collect from Fyshwick, they say they have stock but they don't have any. I had to transfer to collect at another store. First time using one and holy molly….. within one room the sucker sucked a full tank…… I also hadn't done the vacuuming more then a week ago. Seriously couldn't believe how good this thing was.
I just realised that there is a complimentary dok offer. This is a great deal. Thanks for sharing OP.
REMINDER on free DOK redemption: https://discoverdyson.com.au/dok/
Just received a confirmation email for the free DOK. Great!
V12 coming out later this month I believe.
Tempted to get this but think I should wait out
