Oh wow! I'm goanna eat both of them

What good is the deal with the app is such a big pile of horse shit :(
The app literally can't find a single location

    • +2

Did you turn on location service on your phone?

    • I've got the same issue. Apparently there's no Hungry Jack's in Australia lol.
      Turned on location services.
Maccas and KFC have no trouble finding my nearest restaurant.

I thus only use the app for shake and win and the prizes are getting worse.

      • This happened to me too.
But it seemed that the app has been recently updated. It's now working fine on my phone

  • Looks like it's not targeted. Normally $4.40 for one so it's a good deal. Shame that it's an app voucher so it's single use only unless you make more accounts / use more phones.

Such a hassle to get, just tried getting it
App is a pile of shit
When i finally found the store locator to work the restaurant couldn't scan the damn barcode and i couldn't even order via the app because there's always an error that prevents me from paying.

    • Bro, I had the EXACT same thing with the store locator and scanning the barcode too. Useless.

      • N the manager offered to give it to me for $6.30 instead lmao

        • Yeah sounds like that (profanity) didn't want to honour the deal.

The person serving me had to manually type in the code for me.

    • couldn't scan the damn barcode

I get this all the time, even with shake and win.
"Could you increase the brightness" - umm it's at 90% (because I know HJs has issues).
"Wiggle it around a bit" - scanner beeps. "Oh sorry, could you try that again for me?"
Sometimes it can take a few minutes. In the end they sometimes just prepare it without putting it through (I only really claim the freebies).

what are these like compared to Maccas? I love the mighty muff + extra egg.

    • +2

Terrible TBH haha. I still eat them though.

    • I've noticed these vary from place to place. Some are horrible but some HJ do them well.
For Melburnians, go to the one inside Melbourne Central near the train station on the basement floor since I've found them to be the best. Friendly staff too.

      • they microwave the muffins so the cheese melts. but it leave the toasted muffin themselves to end up soft and unpalatable.

So many people don't realise that the quality of the fast food restaurant largely depends on who's working there haha, you can really tell the difference between people who don't care vs people who do.

Yep stick with maccas… these are so dry. I cant believe they don't come with sauce on them.

Many years ago I worked at HJ and we'd receive our eggs frozen as precooked circles. Looked akin to my daughters fake eggs that she has in her play kitchen. I wonder if they cook real eggs fresh in store now

    • shit i didn't know that but that would explain a lot… i've found that Hungry Jacks eggs are overcooked (turning gray) more often than not and it makes a huge difference to the taste (and texture)

Not sure where Scotty worked but this is not true of most HJ's or at least all the ones i've been in. I worked at a HJ's about 10 years ago now…

We would receive fresh eggs and we crack them into a hot plate that has 12 egg rings placed on it. It has a lid which is closed and then we pour water into a dent in the top (Its to easily measure the water needed). The water then flows through a tiny hole, onto the hot plate and steams the eggs. This is why they are firm because its a steamed egg not fried.

This picture is pretty much the exact thing we used.

My guess is if your eggs are turning grey then they have probably been kept in the tray warmers for wayyyy too long. Those things are heat lamps heating a small space so it continues to cook the eggs. The policy is to not hold the eggs (or most items actually) for longer than 10 minutes but some people are way too lazy to crack a fresh dozen eggs and do, you could probably ask them to cook fresh eggs or find a new shop.

Constantly get $2 Bacon and Egg Muffin offers in my Macca’s app. Not a fan of HJs muffins.

  • These are horrible compared to maccas version.

  • $5 DOMINO'S PIZZA oops or two morning muffins.
