Best Phone ~ $1000 with Fingerprint Sensor and No Notch/Punchole/etc

I've been shopping around and haven't been able to find anything decent, and I refuse to pay much more than this.

Was looking at the Pixel 4 but apparently that has no fingerprint sensor so that's out.

Also considering a OnePlus 7 Pro or 7t Pro, I'm wary because of the lack of Australian support, but this is the front runner. Pop up selfie camera is kinda dumb, but I don't use it so I don't care.

I hate phone notches, I want a fingerprint sensor.

Last resort will be an older phone (S9 maybe? If I can find it cheap…)

    OPPO Reno 5G
    Sony Xperia 1

    • I'd completely overlooked Sony (frankly forgot they even made phones).

Sony Xperia 1 looks really nice, new front runner, thanks!

No more Aussie support however, although buying from Kogan might give you some quasi-warranty.

I reckon you won't even notice a notch after the first day.

      That's what people tell themselves…

Galaxy Note9 is an older phone. No notch, still feels modern thanks to it's design, has great cameras.=. Costs $800 or so.

    • +1 for the Note 9. Use the cash you save on this one to get yourself some toilet paper.

if you can wait, rumours are that pixel 4a will have fingerprint sensor. or could just get a pixel 3.

    • I can't disagree more. Do not get the Pixel 3. It's a crap phone with a pathetic battery life, you get better specs on sub $400 phones. The only saving grace on that one is the camera

I had a Pixel 3 which I sold after 8 months of use cuz I hated it that much. M back to using a 3.5 year old OnePlus 3T (which is so much better than the Pixel)

  • OnePlus 7 Pro

  • What about an iPhone 8 or 8 plus? That would be my choice

I thought some phones had a setting to black out the top section, making it the notification bar, which would then hide the notch?

    • I've heard it doesn't work with full screen video and other full screen apps. Main reason I find it annoying is that it cuts in to videos :/

      • Bugger yes that would s¥ck

  • Maybe the Asus Zenfone 6?
I've been using it and love the fact that it's simply full screen, looks nice and clean.
