Whilst traveling around south WA a few years ago, power was out for a few days. I had one of these in the ute and came in very handy for keeping the Engles and mobile phone ticking over.

  • What was the price before?

    • Seems to be around $150-159 in other stores.

  • Also, pic says 600a. I'm assuming the product is the 300a and image is incorrect.

Correct image - description from another site:

300 Instant Starting amps jumpstarts a wide range of vehicle sizes
      600 PEAK amps

    • Yep, 300A with 600A 'peak' for a nanosecond.

    TIL Mitre 10 still exists.

Not bad in regional areas where bunnings isnt.

  • Any good for a 12V Toyota hybrid battery

You'd need to check for your specific model in the owners manual, and it would only be usable on the conventional battery used by the starter for the petrol engine. Even then you'd want to make sure by reviewing the manual that there are no special requirements or gotcha's. Presumably the 12V starting battery would be completey isolated from the rest of the system and only connected to the starter, alternator and perhaps headlights, but again tough to say without reviewing the manual.

      • There is no 12V starter motor to start the engine in Toyota hybrids.

But there is a 12V battery that starts the motor

          • @johnno101: The 12V battery is not used to start the electric motor or the petrol engine.

            • @lomie: then how is the petrol motor started? all petrol engines need rotation to start.

              • @Wilburre: MG1, an AC motor-generator having a permanent magnet rotor,[7] used as a motor when starting the ICE and as a generator (alternator) when charging the high voltage battery

  • Or contact Stanley?

  • I keep thinking what Cybermen would look like on The Simpsons.

  • Tnx m8, awesome deal
