          They just don't seem to be anywhere near 99 bucks, not true wireless, no noise cancelling, oldish Bluetooth standard and battery life isn't amazing. For 29 they are probably good, but 99 is a wide

      Which hasn't changed at all with respect to audio devices. Bluetooth 4.0/4.1/4.2 in the context of audio transmission will work the same way.
      The only thing that BT 5 brought to Bluetooth Classic was SAM, which I guess might be helpful in an environment like a highly-packed train or bus where many other people were also using BT.
