Free Full-Sized Lipstick When You Return 6 M.A.C Primary Packaging Containers @ M.A.C Stores, David Jones, Myer & Mecca

150

BACK TO M·A·C

Because we share your commitment to the environment, M·A·C accepts returns of its primary packaging through the Back to M·A·C Program. By returning six [6] M·A·C primary packaging containers to any M.A.C free standing store or counter you will receive a free M·A·C lipstick of your choice* as our thanks to you. Please note, Lipsticks provided at no charge cannot be returned or exchanged. SEE STORE LOCATOR

*Complimentary lipsticks limited to those with a retail price of $36.00, and excludes all those from limited life or Viva Glam collections. Customers will be notified if any shades are out of stock.

Since 100% of the retail selling proceeds of Viva Glam Lipstick is provided to organisations that help people living with HIV/AIDS, these colours are excluded from this program.

In countries where it is permissible, the returned packaging is forwarded to appropriate waste management centres to recycle/reuse through energy recovery. M·A·C will continue to explore alternative means of waste disposal in all markets.

Most primary packaging of M·A·C products is accepted as Back to M·A·C "currency". M·A·C does not accept the following as a part of the program:

  1. Secondary packaging of any sort [paper box, plastic/cellophane wrapper, shopping bags, etc.
  2. Samples [sample containers, special/trial size products for promotional/seasonal kits
  3. Cosmetic applicators/tools [disposables, puffs, sponges, scissors, spatulas, swabs, sharpeners, tweezers, curlers
  4. Accessories [bags, belts, makeup cases, lashes, Blot Film].

In addition to our "Back to M·A·C Program", M·A·C uses minimal packaging and recycled paper to paperboard packaging in our offices, manufacturing and distribution facilities. Vegetable-based inks are used for printing whenever possible. At M·A·C we share your concerns about the environment and we are continually looking for ways to address those concerns while providing our customers with complete product satisfaction and safety.

Edit: I was first made aware of this recycling program through an email from DJs. As mentioned in the comments, this is available at all MAC outlets. I've edited the deal to reflect this.

Pretty sure it's all MAC outlets doing this, not just the ones inside DJs; been going on for years

    • Oh! I wasn't aware of this before I saw the email. Thanks for mentioning it's all MAC outlets

  • "WITH MAKEUP, THERE ARE NO RULES"
    - Parris Goebel

God, when did makeup go get so badass?!

    • Second rule of make-up, don't talk about make-up

      • Third rule…don't lick the lipsticks.

Did you know that women eat an average of up to 2kg of lipstick in their lifetime?

How does anyone (unless as suggested above it’s been going on for years)collect 6 make up packages?
You will not have been collecting and makeup lasts ages!

    • Do you wear makeup?

How does anyone…collect 6 make up packages?

      There's this creature called Woman…

  • Thanks Op ;)

  • My wife can easily do a demonstration for you, I have watched her many times swap 6 empties for yet another lipstck and this is no 30 second task I might add as she gets to choose the colour! Words of advice, never suggest to get the same colour as last time, it does not end well.

  • In case it's helpful info,

Found an article at Greenmatters (US, but hopefully still relevant since it's about global brands) talking about this offer & others available through Lush (5 empty Lush pots for a free facemask) & Kiehl's (10 empty full-size containers for 10 stamps to get a free travel-size product):
    https://www.greenmatters.com/style/2018/07/20/Z1lOo5w/back-t…

It also says you can take the MAC empties in one by one & they'll track your returns for you using the 'Back to MAC Tracker' in exchange for a lower-value freebie too (American examples listed so I'm not sure of the AU equivalent here)
