There's no legitimate reason that it's this expensive, it's merely to trick those that associate price with quality.
Classic case of expensive junk marketed as quality.
Probably find you could buy this from Goop too.Main ingredient is cheap corn, partially made up from junk corn at that.

His chemical analysis may be accurate (when boiled down everything is a chemical, the question is whether the balance is good, the food is palatable and digestible etc). I see nothing in his CV which suggests he's an expert in animal nutrition or veterinary care so I take his comments with a grain of maize.
You don't to be an expert to note that corn isn't particularly nutritious, and that unscrupulous companies will take advantage of an unregulated industry.
The veterinary industry is complicit in selling unhealthy pet food, as they're both indirectly and directly induced through study grants, university funding, and non-monetary commissions for selling dry food at their practices.
Certainly you don't need to be an expert to know that corn is very nutritious (less so when refined, like many foods) and has been a staple food in some cultures for thousand of years. Expertise is however required to make judgements about appropriate foods for animals because there are comparatively few long-term studies of modern pet foods on pet health.
That said I'm open to your evidence of vets selling and promoting "unhealthy pet food" so feel free to expand with facts.

WHAT?????????????
Corn is mainly composed of carbs and fairly high in fibre, tonnes of starch. It also has low-quality protein, not exactly great for a canine.@snuke: WHAT?????…..You may want to research corn's food value at some time - preferably from a site with direct expertise. One of the first things you may learn is that starch is carbohydrate. Animals need varied and balanced diets. This and similar products can form part of their diet even if the cost doesn't reflect the food value.
Do you have any other recommended product
hmm no matter which state I select I get this message:
'No carrier has been made available for this selection." ?-Ignore me.. put in a post code and got it working
Irrespective of whether corn is nutritious to dogs or not, it is relatively cheap when compared to animal protein
I shall repeat my earlier questions OP
what about this food makes it specific to labradors? ( I didn't know that labradors love corn so much that they have to have it as corn and corn gluten)
And why is it so expensive even at the discounted price ( for a food that contains corn and corn gluten)
