Starting 1/7/08 Sony are giving away a PS3 40GB (by redemption) to the first 35,000 purchasers of any Full Def Sony HDTV. The PS3 is valued at $699. Apparently the deal may even be available from as early as today. (Second-hand/repaired items from the Sony Factory outlet do not apply, but box-damaged items do).
Buy any Full Def Sony HDTV and get a free PS3-40GB by redemption from Sony

That's why they're probably saying to the first 35k people this time, though I wonder how many they sold last time and how many they have in stock now…
my friend bought a sony many months ago, received his PS3 abt 3 months later.
Too bad I bought my Sony KDL-46X3000 Bravia 1080P Full HD LCD TV few months back!
But a great deal nevertheless, so +1!is there any direct link to the page?

40"
Actual prices should be a 1/3 under retail at least, but with Sony TVs you pay a lot for the name tag, I rather buy a Samsung which is just as good if not better, get Samsung's cashback or similar and still afford the PS3 for the price of a Sony ;)
KDL40W3100 - Available from DFO Sony outlet (Sydney) for about $1899. I bought the same model back in dec 07
Hi,
Is that a brand new KDL40W3100 or refurbished one? That you'll need to call to find out. I didn't get mine there.
Cheapest I could find on staticice was $1700ish for a 32" V4000 model went up to $2000ish for a 40" V4000 and then up from there.
I bought and put $100 deposit on the KDL40W4000 at Rhodes Bing Lee for the price of $2199 + $150 (extra four years extended warranty) and will be available in about 1 week time. As soon as I got it I will go and redeem the free PS3.
I hope I got a good price on that.
Couldn't find this post before.

They did have something similar last year (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/2502) and from the news I read (sorry can't find the quote) that it took a long time for Sony to deliver those PS3's.
