Genuine question - say you buy whisky from Melbourne City Store. How do they ensure you are taking them out of the country? Or is this a loophole to buy whisky duty free?

Perth off-site duty free shops have closed. Airport only. I'd expect city price less than airport price. I'd say when you fly you'll be flagged to produce the whiskey. You'll need check in luggage probably as no liquid on board. Unless you buy city and pick up on departure
