  • Awesome price. Wish it was the normal wall outlet ones.

  • +1

I have never seen the benefit of these over a power board… Looks nice until you see the big bulky cord coming out with nothing to wind it around when you are traveling.

Then you have one of the ports facing downwards? I don't get it.

    • +21

The biggest benefit is that bulky plugs dont block off the other ports.

      • +3

"Unique take on traditional power boards which is able to fit bulky adapters"

      • Exactly, I can't understand why it is so hard for some people to get. Here you are sure whatever plug or adapter size you are using, you can plug 5 devices.

    • +8

I personally have the USB version which is good for non QC/pd devices, and I'd recommend that version.

On the bulkiness comment. Couldn't disagree more. I put it in the bottom of my backpack, with the cable wound up, and then the cable can sit next to anything flat (eg my laptop) and it's SUPER compact. Would never take a flat power board over this.

      • +2

Fair enough. I have only ever seen someone I was travelling with use one and the cord looked very thick and stiff and hard to coil. Can't say I have ever had a problem with a power board though. I just wrap the cable around and it is thin enough to slide in next to everything.

    • +2

i have one stuck close to the front of my pc desk so i can plug things in without having to crawl underneath the talbe

    • +3

Good for those weird power points halfway up the wall.

    • +1

Great for travel. You just need one local adaptor. But Iā€™d get the model with 2 x USB

    • +2

I have one of these (with usb) attached to the top of my desk. It's so handy to charge stuff and muck around with all my electronics crap, soldering, testing PC's and running anything extra I need without having to climb down under my desk and battle for a power point.

They don't take up much space so I guess there's that.

  • cool got $8ish credit not sure from where so choose pickup target and paid $0.25

  • What's the difference between this and this?

    • +9

      $14

      • +1

You forgot one is green, one is grey

    • +1

Not much. At least they both start with letter G.

      • +1

The colours are both Gr lol.

Just making sure that this one isn't better than the last ones I purchased because I would naturally have to buy again then hehe.

  • +1

These are good but the USB version is better. This is a good price though.

    • How much with the USB?

      • Not sure. I bought 3 from Dick Smith when it was going under. I think I paid $5 each.

    • The usb one misses a side tho (for the usb)

  • +3

$3.47 for pickup from target for me.

    • The choice of Target is very limited and unusable for most I guess.

      • +1

Really? I thought target had heaps of locations.

        • The ones they offer pick up from in VIC is pretty far away from CBD so doesn' work for me :( YMMV.

      • agree

  • +3

I have no idea how I'm going to use them but bought 2 anyway.

    • +1

Same. It will help with a outlet I cant reach at home. My shoulder is feeling better already!

    • How did you buy two under the same order when it restricts "one per customer?" Or did you order using two different accounts and will be paying two different pickup fees?

      • The limit was two per order for the original GREEN cubes.

Seems they have reduced it to one for the BLUE cubes.

  • +1

I got 2 it is always useful to have multi sockets at home

  • +1

Thanks OP, ordered 2, hope they are of usable quality. Needed some small powerboards so perfectly timed.

    • How did you buy two under the same order when it restricts "one per customer?" Or did you order using two different accounts and will be paying two different pickup fees?

      • I think it was limit 2 when I ordered….didn't use separate accounts - will be delivered today so hope it's 2!

        • By the time I go replies to my question, even the blue one went out of stock so I saved some money. :-))

          • +1

@Yankyviking: Literally just opened package, 2, phew!

One of those things that were so keenly priced that I'd usually think "yeah I saved money but I still regret the miss". As long as they are quality of course but only usage will determine that.

  • +1

Got 2 as well, never know when it will come in handy. Thanks OP

  • mine is $5.47 pick up

  • shipping is an extra $5.547 for pick up from target….

  • This extendable one might be useful.
I bought the non-extendable one that plugs into your wall and it's proven to be a paperweight.

The Powercube I have has 2 usable ports on it, but it's so big that it blocks one of the two sockets on my wall … so I still came out with only 2 sockets before and after the Powercube!
    Lesson learned.. :)

    • I only take the powercube (wall one) while traveling. It's handy as you only need one travel adapter and the cube to charge multi devices, as opposed to taking turns to charge each device.

      • Which one ? Link please?

          • +2

            @jimojr: Yeah that's the one.
I'm sure it has some good uses, but don't buy it if you've got a double socket on the wall and think you'll make it have 3 sockets - you'll still only have 2.

I may be the only idiot that made that mistake but that's my public service announcement in any case!

            • +2

@Deviner: I have same experience when I plug it on the wall. But it is good, if you use it with 5-Outlet one. See here.

              • @jimojr: Ohh yeah, that's a good shout actually.
I have 2 so I may be able to get some use out of them after all.

  • Who comes up with these brand names?

    • People that don't use the English language?

    • +9

      It's cocacolla backwards šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

    • +1

      Think they are Dutch

      • Dutch inventor/company, I speak Dutch/Flemish and does not at all sound like a Dutch name/word.

    • +2

Could be worse "Alotacoc" for example.

      Well done John Kimble.

      • +1

        Well, I am a detective. šŸ˜Ž

        • Inspector Gadget, the electronics detective

        • It's not a tumor!

  • These are great for travelling nice and compact, only need 1 travel adapter and this board cube, instead of bringing multiple travel adapters.
Edit: Just saw someone posted this above, whoops

  • $3.47 pick up for me~ Got two. Was in the need for a couple extra powerboards.

  • thanks, ordered two with pick up from Target, $13.47 all up

  • +3

are powerboards the new ozb obsession same as eneloops?

  • Hi all, got a code from them today:- DROP10

    It's $10 off a $50 spend… possibly targeted but try for yourself :)

  • +1

I just did a search on eBay on Power cubes and here is the link: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Allocacoc-PowerCube-4-Outlets-2-ā€¦

Dont worry on the cost, just what can be done to the Power Cubes: stack the power cube with a 1 x cube with a cord and stack with the wall plug design. It also has a mounting dock to mount under a table.

Hope this helps some ways to use…

  • Thanks, ordered 2!

Can anyone send me a unidays 10% off catch voucher please?

    • I see $18.90

      • +2
        • Ta, but no free delivery unless I am a Prime member :(

          • @spy: Try select prime delivery anyway. My trial is a couple of weeks finished but it still gave me the free shipping when I chose Prime instead of Priority shipping

        • +1

I'm still see them all selling $18.90.

        • still showing up at 18.90 for me wit Prime :(

        • +1

          ozbargained…

    • Thanks ordered 2
      Arriving 4 March - 19 March

  • Ordered 2 as well. Great deal; very handy

  • Thanks Op ordered 2

  • Bought a couple of these and some of the ones with extension and USB. One failed after 2 days use.

  • Sweet, still have that $20 credit from the Edifier debacle

  • They are stupid hard to plug into sometimes. And my USB version stop charging after 1 year. Seems like a great design but it is not and quality is poor.

  • +1

I like Chinese version that can take both AU and US plugs more (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32969629371.html) , but this is cheap, thanks!

  • Do these have a flat style wall plug or one that sticks out?

    • I'm assuming you're asking if the wall plug has the cable coming out at an angle? No, it's the standard wall plug with the cable sticking straight out

  • +1

Last time these were on special I price matched Catch at Officeworks with no problem (got it for $5). Might be worth a try for anyone keen on one of these.

I've used mine on a few overseas trips and would definitely recommend it over a normal power board.

    • +1

Great items to take on overseas trip. Take one plug adapter, instead of multiple adapters, and put your one adapter on your PowerCube plug :-)

The USB ones are quite handy too though…

  • +1

Worst quality, one smell burn after plugin.

  • No more left :(

  • so confused one good feedback then one bad feedback then one good again…

  • Now sold out

    • Back in stock.

  • -1

Can't believe No One questioned whether these have in build Surge Protection.

    • -1

      Yes, it has. See here.

      • The new ones are surge protected, these seem like the pre-2016 version (no surge protection) being cleared out.

  • Did they change the limit? People earlier saying they bought 2 but the limit now is 1.

    UPDATE:
The limit was two per order for the original GREEN cubes.
Seems they have reduced it to one for the BLUE cubes.

  • Bought one, thanks. $8.47 total - pickup from Target

  • OUT OF STOCK

I must have bought one of the last ones. I went to buy a 2nd one (another account) and they are OOS now.

  • Ozbargained…Blue now sold out…

  • Just watched it go out of stock. Hopefully it might pop back up.

Anyone tried to price beat at Officeworks? Looks like they sell the same ones there

  • +2

It's overpriced to begin with. Other than being a cube with plugs protruding from all sides which is awkward, there's no surge protection, no USB ports, no power switch. Not sure what the fuss is about.
