Heads up for all Switch owners,
The game got a patch today bringing the game up to version 3.6.

Includes a bunch of graphical adjustment options similar to the PC version (I highly recommend turning off anti-aliasing and increasing sharpness to low for a much clearer image without getting too jagged).

It also now supports cross-play with the Steam/GOG versions as well if you're one of those people who prefer the Switch for handheld only and have a decent PC.

No word on crossplay for other consoles, but it's definitely better than nothing!

Nice when the developers "throw a coin to their Switcher"

      … i'll show myself out.

        It's… It's "toss"…

        • O'valley of plenty

        • Damn it!

Great game. Allocate 100hrs and play this if you haven't.

    • Neglect child and job now, or wait for Cyberpunk 2077?

      • +2

        Why not both?

    • Who has 100hours to play games these days?

        Not me.
        Yet somehow it happened.

    • I've always been a big fanboy for this game, but I recently got into a youtube argument (haha) with a guy who went through all the enemy types and noted their similarities- ie, many are reskins of one another, and they all have similar "swarm" ai. He was arguing that the game is massively overhyped and easily beaten by other RPGs. It forced me to think critically and I came to the conclusion that, yes, the combat is not mechanically as deep as dark souls and so on. This is even evidenced by my playstyle- I immediately upgraded to "whirlwind" and just spammed that in every encounter. However, if we're talking about story, world building, voice acting, music etc, I can't think of anything that rivals it.

    Wind's howling….

  • When a humble bard…

  • Is the ps4 pro version much better than switch? Hmm graphics vs portability….?

    • I own a PS4 Pro and the game already. Do NOT buy Witcher 3 if you only have a PS4 Pro. The game actually has major issues on the Pro Console since Sony did a Pro update awhile ago causing the game to hitch, freeze and downright crash every few minutes. Its unplayable. Rise of the Tomb Raider has the same problem from whatever update Sony pushed to the Pro that completely broke these 2 games. Google it. I have the same issue and the game runs fine/better on my base PS4 500gb Slim my brother owns. Just a heads up. This only effects the game on the PS4 Pro for some reason.

      • Damn it, I totally was going to purchase this later today. I own a Pro, but this has thrown me off completely.

30 hours in and I don't experience this issue, but I have a 2TB SSD inside and it seems like a streaming assets problem.

          • @stealth: Same. No issues here.. But like stealth, I upgrade my Pro to a SSD HDD. Runs smooth for me.

    • Played through first on PC, playing through now on the Pro cause it was cheap and wanted to play in the lounge room.

20 hrs in on the pro, and while there are frame drops I haven't had any crashes.

  • Started the tutorial then got bored for some reason.. compared to HZD it's just not as fluid

    • This is fairly true, but it comes into it's own with the fantastic storyline as it develops. Worth sticking out for but certainly not the same faster paced gameplay as HZD.

  • Bought this on PC and PS4 but struggling to find time to play it.

    • I struggle doing any of the story and just end up playing Gwent

Just a heads up (and maybe they’ve updated this) but if you played the non-GOTY version, your save file won’t transfer over as they’re treated as two separate games. Don’t buy this if you’re just after the DLC and already own the original game.

    • also Disc saves weren't compatible with Digital last I checked.

  • Amazing game. Worth much more
