    • How many jars can you fit in your trolley before you are embarrassed to go to the checkout?
I did 8 jars last time, this time i'm going to double it. 16 jars, nothing else.

      • Self-serve, who cares then?

      • I usually take the whole box off the shelf. Think I got 27 from two visits to Woolies last time.

    • The website says Promotion limit is 12 per person. Just putting it out there.

I'm jumping for joy (and so is the dog)! I bought 12 jars last time and I ran out last week, so I've been having withdrawals. This time… definitely on 16 jars like lordezekiel….

Oil on top - hard and dry at the bottom.

    • +2

It’s literally just ground peanuts. Nothing added. And it tastes amazing.

Is this better than Kraft peanut butter?

    • +1

yeah. it spreads nicer, just the right amount of oil and better quality consistency.

    • -1

Well technically it is better, but my tastebuds still prefer the classic Bega recipe.

  • +1

Will this be in store and online? Last time it was just online…

    • Great news, it's in store as well.

  • +2

How does everyone like to have their Mayvers PB ? I like to toast my bread and have it with coffee… sometimes without toasting… sometimes by itself spoonful… this is so tasty! Stocking up

    • +1

Great big spoonfuls of the stuff with fruit on the side for me. Apple, pear, nectarine, peach, orange, strawberries, anything like that makes it less dry and easy to eat. Banana doesn't work quite so well, not juicy enough.

    • +1

Love spreading em on Muesli bars for a cheap decently healthy snack.

Otherwise straight from the jar into my mouth mate. The protein plus tastes so good.

      Don't rate pb on bread.

      • +2

"Love spreading em on Muesli bars for a cheap decently healthy snack."

LOL @ pretending that muesli bars are "healthy."

        • +3

Fair enough, you're right if we're generalising.

Firstly it depends on the muesli bar, but regardless when I say healthy I mean relative to other options. Just like PB. I'm a very active person doing 2 hours exercise a day when not injured, so healthy means something different to me. Having a snack with lots of sugar and fat and protein (but from natural, relatively unprocessed, low GI sources) is what I'm looking for as opposed to a celery stick which is undoubtedly healthier but won't give me the fuel I need. It's better than choccy or a bag of chips or most other snacks in that it includes a nice combo of macronutrients, and lots cheaper.

  • It's just peanut butter yeah? I keep seeing the love it gets here and I feel like there must be more to it.

    • yeah it's a bit over rated, it is just peanut butter at the end of the day. it's just like having a cafe coffee instead of a 7-11 coffee.

      • +1

I love the analogy comparing it to a drug. It's true though, peanut butter is basically a drug (Especially Mayver's).

  • +1

Thanks OP, it has been a while since the last offer!

    • yeah I think was end of last year, I stocked up even though we went away for 7 weeks, so I still have some, but I ll stock up a bit more :)

  • -3

You know, whenever I see 'Natural' in a product name, I feel like the vendor is trying to con me.

I mean, is there really UNnatural peanut butter?

It's surprising it is not also described as 'chemical free'… LOL.

    • +2

Yeah, a lot of them have trans-fats in them to stabilise them, meaning the oil doesn't separate out. That's EXTREMELY "unnatural."

    • +5

It means the jar just contains just peanuts, often with a little salt but not always.

Normal peanut butter is not a food but a confection, laden with sugar and cheap and nasty oils to make it consistent in texture.

Normal peanut butter is garbage, hence the delineation by “natural peanut butter”.

    • they might add soon gluten free / vegetarian ok / vegan ok…

  • Anyone know how long deal is for?

    • +1
