2000

Nintendo has a sale going on the Nintendo Switch eShop, there are only 4 games at 75% off but there are still some good discounts elsewhere on Nintendo's big first-party games and third party games like Overwatch and The Witcher 3.

  • You mention Overwatch in your intro text but it's not in the list of prices?

    • +6

Oh, my scraper missed it because it has a different SKU with all the bundles it has. Sorry, have added it to the list - thanks!

    • Overwatch Legendary Edition (Blizzard Entertainment) - $48.96 (Usually $69.95, ends 1/03) - 30% off

  • +13

Thank you OP, not getting anything, but upvoted for the list!

  • +6

I would recommend Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA who wants to play JRPG + Action

    • +2

Yeah, had a lot of fun with that one. Got it much cheaper on PS4 though if you have both systems and can wait for a deal

      • Yeah I bought the ps4 version from jb hifi for $19 last year during the sale.

    • Ditto! Now I've finished it I miss those characters :(

      • It's because they're just fun and fleshed out characters. Dana can be my Valentine lol

    • Great game. One of my top 10 of all time tbh.

  • +1

How much is the Witcher usually?

    • +1

      I think around $70.
I would love it to be around $20 but it's relatively new on this console.

      • +6

I would recommend playing it on another console, or PC. I bought it on the Switch but the graphics have been scaled back drastically. I play on a LG 55" 4K capable TV and I just couldn't do it sadly. I'm a Nintendo Fanboy too, but this one will need to be played on PC for me.

        • The purpose of it is mainly for the portability, would not recommend anyone play it in docked mode as you can really see the graphical downgrades. Still, fantastic to be able to play it wherever I go.

    • just a spare coin.

  • +6

Oh boy, my memory card is about to exploderun out of space.

  • Wish the console was on sale.

    • It’ll come back around. Got mine around $330 with Mario Kart during Black Friday sales. Was a cheap way to upgrade to 2019 model.

  • +7

    Blockbuster sale

I thought they shut down years ago?

  • Thanks OP. What does the bolding mean?

    • +3

      OPs fav/recommended games 😁

    • Maybe historical lows according to Deku Deals?

      • Nah, it's not that. There would be way more than that - both Runbow (Lowest price ever / New lowest price) and Puyo Puyo Tetris (Matches previous low) are not highlighted, off the top of my head.

  • +9

They need a sale on top of a Sale. I'm glad Microsoft and Sony have each other cos those prices are taking the piss.

    • Haven't bought a game off my xbox in a long time because of game pass

  • +8

Unravel two is an incredible game. Highly recommended.

    • +3

finished yesterday with my 9 years old daughter. Such a nice game, cooperation is everything!

      • +3

I agree played with my daughter too, lovely game. I'm considering checking out Unravel 1.

      • My kids and I love this game.
        Definitely worth it.

    • Got it based on this comment!

    • +3

My wife and I finished it together and to be honest we thought it was "just okay"; the game suffers from an overwhelming dull vibe. The yarn mechanics are novel at first, but the types of physics puzzles are very repetitive. The game is pretty, but the level design is boring. There's a neat story being told in the background I guess, but we don't have a reason to care about it. The music is very meh too.

$10 is about the right price for it (got it on PS4), anymore than that and I'd say pass.

      • Thanks for the detailed/ honest review. Was gonna get it cause it looked 'interesting' but repetitiveness kills games for me

      • Cheers, any games you recommend playing with my girlfriend? We played Luigi's Mansion 3 on Co-Op together and really enjoyed it.

        • My wife loves Overcooked 1 & 2.

We have also played through most of Unravel 2, but it didn't grab her as much.

          • +5

@caprimulgus: I've tried Overcooked 2 with her, but it gets too hectic and I have to sleep outside with the dog

            • @Pub Envelope: Yeah everyone should play to overcooked with their SO before they commit to anything (wedding/kids)
              You'd be surprised lol

        • Diablo 3 was a surprise hit with my wife. By the end of it she was even micromanaging her own gear and abilities. Even at the start when I was managing all that she enjoyed the combat/exploration.

    • +1

Link to unravel 2 since few people mentioned it (and I had to look for it for myself :-)

  • +4

Dark Souls is a great deal if you want to go digital!

    • +1

I bought a physical copy yesterday before I saw this for $65. I think I am going to buy the digital one as well for that price. We have two Switch's in the house.

You can never have too many Soulsborne games.

  • +2

Disgaea 5 seems like a great price might finally pick it up. Also Puyo Puyo tetris is amazing and definitely worth getting if you enjoy Puyo Puyo or tetris.

  • Thanks, was half interested in Unravel Two to play with my wife and at $10 it's worth a shot.

  • is it a good idea to buy digital copies in general since you cant resell them later on?

    • +9

I only buy digital if it's <$15. Anything more, and I just wait for a used physical copy for $30-$40. Worth so much more to me in physical. :) Never have to worry about problems of digital, however I have had a friend lose all their games because they lost the physical copies while travelling and now he says he only buys digital. There's reasons both ways, really.

    • +2

Depends. Not everyone resells their games. Plus not having to change a cartridge is very nice ( due to kids my living room floor is full of toys and I play different games with my kids around)
      Good points and bad

      • +1

+1 for not having to change cartridges. For me I judge if it's a game for the kids (digital) or if it's something I might want to sell later on (physical). As well as how long I'm willing to wait for the sale of the physical copy.

    • This question comes up every time lol. At the end of the day, it's personal preference.

    • I only buy triple A titles on cartridge unless it is super cheap (I got Mario Kart super cheap digitally)

    • +1

its really case by case. For party games like overcooked or local coop games like wizard of legends I prefer the digital version.

  • +1

Puyo Puyo Tetris is great for local play. Cant recommend it enough. Always reach for it when people come over

  • +1

Thank you for taking the time to list everything!

  • +1

    Great price for Fire Emblem.

  • Thanks a lot for this OP.

Considering buying Skyrim… need a change from BoTW.

    • Dark souls plays better on the switch imo. Tight arcadey action suits the handheld.

      • I played Dark Souls for maybe an hour on the Switch. It is so painfully clunky, it has not aged well!

      • I've already got it actually.. trying not to get stuck into it until I've completed BoTW though.

  • Thanks for making the list super easy to decipher! 👌
    Awesome deals here.

  • Any feedback on LEGO MARVEL Super Heroes 2? Kids are Lego and Marvel fans.
Also - any deals on Nintendo gift cards going on?

    • +1

I enjoy it. The only complaint I have is the character selection screen is TINY because there's so many characters to unlock. Makes it hard to see at times.

      • Thank You.

  • Oh wow, the final BlazBlue game…… SOLD!

  • +2

Are there any good multiplayer games in this list? Looking to play with my wife and kids (aged between 9 and 13).

I already have Unravel 2 and thoroughly recommend it as others have above.

    • +2

      Diablo 3
      Super Mario Maker 2
      Puyo Puyo Tetris
      Worms WMD
      Runbow
      Wizard of Legend

  • Which of these are good for kids (9 and 7) to play together or with a few friends?

    • +1

The LEGO games are generally considered good for kids (depending on their abilities and interests). Interested in other suggestions too

      • +1

The mario games, including the platformers are 'easier' than previous generations, so should be fine.

        Sonic racing is fun.

And if you dont mind cartoon violence, your kids will be super popular if they have smashbros.

  • Anyway, my picks because I am a tight-ass are:

    Crush Your Enemies!
SlabWell: The Quest For Kaktun's Alpaca
    Old School Racer 2
    Breakforcist Battle
    StarBlox Inc.

Have fun for under $10, thank me later!

  • I need to get captain toad treasure tracker - doesn’t seem like and deals on that one…

  • Unravel Two is great couch co-op fun. Unfortunately doesn’t look as good on switch as other consoles and PC (the textures are lower res and the lighting is simplified, diminishing some of the atmosphere of the beautiful level design). Still good to pick up at this price if you want portability or don’t have another console though.

  • Has Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night been patched enough yet that it works well on Switch now?

    • +1

Yep, plays well now. It's a fun game.

  • Crash team racing is also discounted

  • -1

Troll and I also on sale. Sleeper hit, hell of a game for $6

    • +2

Not sure if I would get Troll and I, even if its free!

  • LOL @ the price of Saints Row III

  • Thanks, good to finally add Runbow to the library

  • I strongly recommend anyone who owns a switch go onto eshop>current offer and have a look themselves, as what OP has listed here is only a portion of the games there. There are many games under 5$ (90% off), also both outlast and outlast2 are under $10 (if you are into horror games).

    • Any other cheap suggestions?

  • My girlfriend bought me a Switch, it's a blessing and a curse because the games are crazy expensive compared to PC.
At least some games have demos which has definitely helped me decide if I really wanted it or not.

    • Demos are a good place to start. My rule is to only buy Nintendo exclusives for the Switch (games available only from Nintendo like Mario, Zelda, Pokémon etc.).
All other games you can buy for consoles and PC are almost always cheaper and they run better too.

The only other factor to consider is if you want the game to play portably, you'll have to suck up the "Switch Tax" for that obviously.

      • I bought Blasphemous in sale and I've been pretty happy with that. But it did have a demo I played first so that was a win.

        • Dude how awesome is that game!

I love that it plays and looks like a Souls game but crossed with Metroid.

          Love the lore too!

  • +1

Just grabbed "Ori and the Blind Forest", its been sitting in my wish list for a while, with a stack of credit from discounted e-shop cards.

Some of the best games on switch are not the big titles, always worthwhile watching reviews and making a list for yourself and you can just check that to see if any are on sale, but I always browse the offers as well and use that to check reviews etc. That said if I see a recommendation for something under $5 or even less like Death Squared the other day, I just grab it anyway!

  • Can someone please help me decide between Assassins Creed (Rebel ection), The Witcher, or Skyrim?

I can only get one, and despite their popularity I've never played any of them before. I'm after something that's challenging and deep (like Dark Souls I guess), and I'm leaning towards AC…but I literally have no clue what the game is about or how to approach it lol. It just looks like a lot of exploration.

    • +4

The Witcher 3 wins hands down

    • Witcher, no doubt about it

  • +1

Starlink is still on sale > https://www.dekudeals.com/items/starlink-battle-for-atlas-st…

I've been having so much fun with it. Mostly can be very chilled out and looks pretty fantastic most of the time. It's a bit simple (a plus for me personally), but for $20 it's still a great time, flying around open-world planets and in space (similar to No Man's Sky except not randomly generated)
