Also don't forget to grab the voice, sound and texture packs. Voice packs in 3 languages - English, German, French.

      • +1

        Thanks for the tip!

      • -3

Why would you pick German and French if you can't speak or understand those languages?

        • +8

          because they're free, duh!

          • -1

@starbearer: Just saying… you can also get all sorts of (potentually deadly) things for free. Doesn't mean you take them.

        • +1

Just because you can't speak German and/or French, doesn't mean everyone else can't either.

      • Always free anyway.

I know Epic are quick to ban for multiplayer game modding, particularly their cash cow Fortnite. Is modding this game something that's likely to get you in trouble?

        • +1

I wouldn't think so, none of this affects the client or multiplayer (this is a single player title), but I'm not actually 100 percent sure. Maybe a bigger look into this is needed if you're worried about losing anything from the epic store.

*edit, a quote from epic about them adding modding in similar to steam workshop (who knows when this will actually happen though)

"We're adding the support for game modding communities. Players will be able to browse a catalog of player and developer made mods for their games. Players will be able to auto-install mods into games they own, that are managed by the Epic Games launcher or download the files separately for other games."

            @scottysunday: Thanks for the reply.

If I play the game and think about modding before this topic expires for comments, I'll come back and let you know what I find.

            Have a good day.

        • +1

Considering it's not their game and no modded files interact with their client it's none of their business. It would be like Steam banning you for fixing fov issues in a .ini file.

@Kozhutki: …unless the publisher asks them to detect cheating…

Are you aware of Valve Anti Cheat?

            https://support.steampowered.com/kb/7849-RADZ-6869/

It may upset you, and you may consider it unfair, but that doesn't mean you can't be banned.

            • -1

@syousef: But VAC doesn't work how you think it works, it's like any other anti cheat, it detects injectables. Editing a settings ini is not injecting.

              You're arguing nothing

              • -2

@Kozhutki: So first of all, you're COMPLETELY wrong. VAC does detect ini file editing.
                https://steamcommunity.com/app/200110/discussions/2/62069652…

Secondly are all these mods ini file edits? I find that hard to believe.

Thirdly, you're the one who said of Steam "it's not their game and no modded files interact with their client it's none of their business". So even if it doesn't detect ini file modification, I showed you VAC which works on games that are "not their game".

Your misunderstandings and inability to follow a train of thought are not my fault or my problem. You might want to wipe that egg off your face, though. Your choice.

                • @syousef: Negative, once again, spouting nonsense you have no idea of.

                  • @Kozhutki: "Negative" and "nonsense" are not a counter argument.

        • You should be fine to mod away. Nexusmods usually work through their own mod manager and should be fine.

You can third party mod games with no real chance of getting banned unless it is an epic game through the launcher. Also most single player games are a-OK

  • Oh good, I have Faeria with XGP but for some reason it doesn't pick up my controller (only game on there that does it) Hopefully the Epic Games version will!

With its unique living board, Faeria is also the only card game where you can gain all 300 cards in less than 50 hours

Thank god! Here I was fearing this was a massive time-sink

    • -3

Yeah, so by that definition, someone who comes up with a game where you can gain all 300 cards in 60 seconds will no doubt have the game of the decade! Or better yet, just give us the 300 cards to start with, so we don't even have to play the game at all!

I'll reckon I'll pass on this one.

  • This game is alright, I preferred and enjoyed Duelyst (rip) much more though.

This game was F2P at one point and they changed to a premium model which has not helped their player base at all (76 peak)

My thoughts on Faeria… The blend of card and board game mechanics is great and has not since been outdone. That said, the AI has always sucked in SP and the only ppl now left in MP are using OP/unbalanced meta builds.

I bought the game long ago (Steam Early Access maybe?), back when buying games was the norm, and long before it tried being a F2P and the now discontinued mobile version. The ever changing landscape of gaming clearly has been challenging for the game studio. It doesn't help that the game has a dumb name and cutesy graphics.

I could never get into Duelyst. I have spent 10 times more hours on Faeria than Duelyst. And 10 times more than that on Card Hunter. So my advice is give Card Hunter a go!

In any case… Faeria is dead. Long live Faeria!

  • Thanks OP!
