I actually saw these rolls on my local Bunnings and grabbed a package out of curiosity. "What can go wrong?" I thought. "It looks a bit weird, but if don't like it I may just return the unused portion of the roll." "And maybe the used one too, as proof of purchase."
It did feel weird as it's very thin. But oh surprise - this paper does not rip under stress, unlike many other famous brands. It's bravely endured the most difficult tasks I've put in front of it. There's no need to add many layers to make it thicker - it can take more work than others using the same standard length/amount I've always used.
My partner said she didn't like how thin it was, and I apologised for going to Bunnings and getting the paper 0.5mm thick and a box of nails 2mm thick instead of the other way around - my confusion. I promised I'd get the right one next time.
