What areas do you guys service? What's the added cost for a tiled roof? What are all the terms and conditions?

    • Hi Togaboyau,

We have added a link to our T&C's in the ad.

      Can also find here: https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/336877/77051/pristine_…

We service most areas in Victoria, please provide a Postcode, and we are happy to confirm.

      Sent you a PM.

      Cheers :)

      • Hmmm. Nothing in there about what the surcharge is for a tiled roof…

        • Hi UncleRico,

          Those are our company T&C's.

For a tile roof, depending on the location, it can range from $150 to $250 extra. If you provide your location, i can confirm for you :)

          • +3

            @Pristine Solar: Thanks Rep.

I'm in NSW, so doubt you can help me. But as with the many questions from others, there's not a lot of love for asterisks in Ozbargain, nor for any lack of transparency and discrete PMs rather than published deals.

That said, I appreciate you providing some more information on this surcharge, even if the title remains unclear about the true minimum cost of purchase which is over $3,700. Cheers.

            • @UncleRico: Thank you for the heads up. Sent you a PM regarding NSW :)

  • +3

FWIW, you didn’t beat the quote I sent you today…

    • who was the quote from out of interest?

      • +1

Solar power nation. It’s a competitive price but

        *this is ozbargain
*they claim to “beat any like-for-like quote provided by other Solar Retailers”

    • Hi Bellpop,

Thank you for sending that through, as mentioned in the Ad, we deal with the following brands: "LG, SunPower, REC, QCell, Trina, Longi, Canadian Solar, Astro Energy, and Akcome. We also provide a wide array of Inverters including SMA, SolarEdge, SunGrow, Huawei, ABB, and Growatt."

I checked with my Distributor, and at this stage we are not able to supply Risen panels and hence cannot offer a price match due to not having a Like-for-like option.

      Sorry about that :)

      • -3

Not replying at all or offering a comparative panel to beat the price was a nice touch…

        • +1

Not even like for like? Obviously they can't match, geez.

        • A lot of installers won’t install panels that have higher faults, as call back cost them too much.

  • Do I need a north facing roof for this? My roof Faces east west

    • Not necessarily.

An east/ west split is also a great option for solar. It produces slightly less than a full North facing array, but does provide a good distribution of power throughout the day.

      Hope this helps :)

    • North facing would be better but east west still works.
I have similar system installed with one less panel.
Same inverter & similar 315w panel. $5350 before Solar VIC rebate & loan last year.
10 panels on east side & another 10 on west.
The inverter is 5kw so you won’t get any more than that even if your system is 6.615kw.
I am using same supplier for electricity & gas and for this summer my solar credit is more than enough off setting both.
Winter would be different since less electricity generated plus much more gas used for heating.

      • Hi,

I am new and still exploring with solar options . May i know , If we want to generate more than 6.6kw with single phase power line what type of inverter is best .

  • +2

    NSW?

  • +4

Brave move posting a “deal” on ozbargain with an asterix in the title… 😬

    • I too went looking but gave up when it was linked..

I think more consistent Solar deals will pop-up in the near future if the government keep offering rebates..

    • The price advertised is for tin, single storey single phase properties. The asterisk is just to indicate that price may vary if there are changes to any of them.

      Cheers :)

      • +2

Where do we find the corresponding information denoted by the asterisk? Ie, how much extra standard tiled roofs adds to the cost.

Please don't PM me the answer; I think we'd all like to know.

        • For a tile roof, depending on the location, it can range from $150 to $250 extra. If you provide your location, i can confirm for you :)

        • PM'd 😉*

      *asterisk

      • 😉

  • Not sure if I qualify for the rebate.

    • Hi raiseyoursteaks,

That price $1,823* upfront (incl. GST) after STC Rebate, Solar Victoria Rebate ($1,888), and Solar Victoria Loan ($1,888)!

The STC rebate is automatically applied. The Solar Victoria Rebate and loan are subject to approval. More details here: https://www.solar.vic.gov.au/

      TLDR:

Victorian households are eligible to receive a rebate for installing a solar PV system if they meet the following criteria:

1.) they are the owner-occupier of the property
2.) the owners have a combined household taxable income of less than $180,000 per year (based on last year’s Australian Tax Office Notice of Assessment)
3.) it is an existing property, valued at under $3 million
4.) they do not have an existing solar PV system*

Early adopters who installed their system prior to 1 November 2009 are eligible to replace or expand their existing system. However, those receiving the Premium Feed-in Tariff should consider whether they will be better off if they replace their existing system.
      Hope this helps :)

  • I’m actually confused - how many rebates do I need to get this price?

    • Hi LIttleticket,

      • So you HAVE to take up the loan? Can you just pay 1823+1888 upfront?

        • Nope, the loan is optional.

When completing the Solar Victoria application, you have the option to proceed with or without the loan option :)

          Hope this helps :)

          • @Pristine Solar: So $3711 total cost if paid upfront?

          • +2

@Pristine Solar: Little bit misleading "fully installed from $1823" there is no scenario possible where it will only cost you $1823…

            • -6

              @Herb Utsmellz: Hi db1983,

Not here to mislead anyone. We mentioned in the title that this system is installed from $1,823 Upfront.

In the first line of the Ad we pretty much mention that we arrive at the $1,823 after the STC rebate, Solar Victoria Rebate ($1,888), and Solar Victoria Loan ($1,888)!

              Thanks :)

  • if the powerboard needs to be upgraded how much extra do you charge?

    • Power board upgrades are determined by our installer. Pricing varies on a case by case basis depending on whether they are a minor or major upgrade.

We are happy to confirm if you send us through a photo of your power board.

No catch here. We are just celebrating our accreditation and offering a deal :)

My central aircon uses three phase, the rest is single phase. What is the recommendation around hooking up solar?

Also why a 6.6kW panel system but you provide a 5kw inverter, does it mean that there is 1.6kw worth of panels wasted because the inverter doesn't support it?

        • -1

          Hi Lplau,

It is common practice to oversize the number of panels (in comparison to the inverter).

I have sent you an PM regarding your enquiry.

  • +6

I got a bit confused with this. The way it's worded makes it sound like the total cost is $1823 when there's a loan amount of $1888 involved. Maybe the title should have total cost instead of upfront cost.

    • Hi hmmz,

Sorry about that!

If we can help in anyway, please let us know.

      Cheers :)

      • +1

You out a price in the title that was not the total cost.
You even put an asterisk but didn't even put what it was for.

This is misleading in my opinion.

  • To save people from needing to research about 3 phase inverter vs 1 phase inverter.
    From my research:

3 Phase vs 1 Phase Inverter in terms of usage due to the polyphase meter which will be used. Since it would basically unravel the 3 phase into single phase and add the kw of each phase together, then subtract the generated so the meter itself cannot tell between 3 phase and 1 phase.

3 Phase Situation (assuming all 3 phases are used equally by A/C):
    A/C: 3kw + 3kw + 3kw = 9kw
    Single Phase Appliances: 3kw

    Total Power: 12kw
    Generated Power from Inverter: 5kw
Power required to be purchased: 7kw.

Seems like most recommendations for 3 phase inverters are for larger systems >10kw.

    • I am a bit lost on your text, depending on what power your house has is what invertor you get.

Most power company’s have a max limit eg Single is 5KW

      • Some allow 10kW per phase though.

  • +1

so you need to get a loan for this price***

    • Hi Punkman,

That price $1,823* upfront (incl. GST) after STC Rebate, Solar Victoria Rebate ($1,888), and Solar Victoria Loan ($1,888)!

The STC rebate is automatically applied. The Solar Victoria Rebate and loan are subject to approval, and the loan is available for everyone that is eligible for the rebate. More details here: https://www.solar.vic.gov.au/

      TLDR:

Victorian households are eligible to receive a rebate for installing a solar PV system if they meet the following criteria:

1.) they are the owner-occupier of the property

3.) it is an existing property, valued at under $3 million
4.) they do not have an existing solar PV system*

Early adopters who installed their system prior to 1 November 2009 are eligible to replace or expand their existing system. However, those receiving the Premium Feed-in Tariff should consider whether they will be better off if they replace their existing system.
      Hope this helps :)

  • Can you advise how much for tiled roof in 3021? Also, how does it work exactly with the electricity providers? Do we need to let them know? What's the going rate these days for exporting back into the grid?

    • Hi ttn,

Total price for Tile roof for that area comes to $2,023* upfront (incl. GST) after STC Rebate, Solar Victoria Rebate ($1,888), and Solar Victoria Loan ($1,888)!

Regarding the Electricity distributors, we apply for a Solar Pre approval as one of the first steps of the process! Regarding the Feed In tariff (exporting rate), the current minimum feed-in tariff in VIC is set at 12 cents per kilowatt hour (c/kWh). More info at: https://www.energy.vic.gov.au/renewable-energy/victorian-fee…

  • Lots of negative reviews of the noise this inverter lets out? Any comment ?

    • Hi,
From our experience, we haven't had Fronius noise complaints. I personally wouldn't be too bothered about it. It is only an issue if your bedroom is placed right next to where the inverter is placed, and even then, it is very minimal noise. However, an alternative option is to consider the SMA SunnyBoy which is a comparable top of the range Single Phase European Inverter, which doesn't have the same noise complaints.

  • Please pm quote for double storey, tiled roof , Postcode 3040……cheers.

    • PM sent :)

  • Hi could I get a quote. Tiled roof single story . REC panels 3335. Single phase.
