I always wake up late :-(
Might need to set an alarm at 2:00am to get in queue then :-o
I’ll leave this for other ozbargainers

  • +2

If i can find a pokestop nearby, i might just spend the night doing a walk/catch, and stop by for a refuel.

That said, the weather seems to have other ideas…

    • +3

Which City are you from? I'll join you if we're local.

      • +8

        dont you guys have to…sleep?

      • Lol you guys are going to stay up all night to get a $7 free drink…… lmfao are you serious. What value!

  • Petrol to the store will cost me more

    • +29

Considering it’s free, anything that also isn’t free would cost you more..,

      • +8

        Math checks out

Reminds me of the time that I was flying down to Sydney, the two older women on either side of me were discussing how much their flight cost, looking smug with themselves, one paid $160, one paid $130.

Food trolley comes around, 'Did you want to buy anything?'. My response, 'Nah… it's all so expensive, I'm not paying $3 for a drink when my whole flight cost me $16.56 with taxes'.

Never heard a peep for the rest of the flight!

        • +15

Thanks for sharing this story with the community

        • +34

then everyone on the plane unbuckled their seatbelts, stood up, chanted your name and clapped.

        • Can you also share how you got flight ticket so cheap?

          • -1

@virhlpool: $16.56 with taxes possibly for Brisbane to Sydney flight… Most people wouldn't add "with taxes" on normal domestic airfares. My guess - used frequent flyer points or similar.

Can be good prices in Deals here. They're just not common.
I've flown $10 each way Brisbane to Sydney.
There have been $1 flights in Deals. Flew Gold Coast to Adelaide $1 each way in August.

          • @virhlpool: It was a $1 special that Jetstar had when they first entered the market, so the actual ticket was $1 but came to $16.56 with all charges

            I clicked and got lucky

            • @kronicmacstigator: To call that $1 flight nearly 17 years ago $16.56 with taxes meant you chose to add optional services…
Those are optional charges you decided to take up - not taxes!

(Everything has taxes in the price somewhere. No need to say with taxes in Australia.)

Not answering virhlpool's question until 9 hours later, I made a guess at what that "my whole flight cost me $16.56 with taxes" could be.
Guesses are not necessarily accurate, made harder by wrong information. I did say there were $1 flight Deals!

I got these $1 flights. It was a good Deal - a year ago.

I chose just to pay the $1 each way for a 2 weeks holiday in Adelaide. But I didn't brag about it to other passengers!

I've met people bragging about their cheap flights. It's always satisfying to know I got a better deal cheaper😀

But upsetting for those happy with their great price, to have their bubble burst! It could ruin their trip. I may subtly ask them if they want to know how to get a better deal next time😉

  • +4

It's almost more like a competition

  • +24

Hi, what number customer am I?

    11

    Thanks. Have a nice day.

    • +2

Ha yeah prolly gonna be me

      • +4

Sorry to say your journey on the Amazing race is now over. snuffs torch

    • +15

But you just opened the store?! I stood outside alone with you in the rain as you opened the door. And that is after I followed you home last night, camped out in the bushes and followed you back this morning!

      • +6

Creepy but funny yet strangely familiar. Take my vote.

    • They might say that to customers 1 through to 10 too!

      • -1

the only sure way is to be there on opening

  • +11

Bit of a joke making it 10. Why couldn't it at least be 50 or more.

    • +2

They still need to make money tho…if it was 50 then someone will wish if it was 100 or more 😂

      • +1

They'll be all gone in 5mins from opening.

        • And there will be like 1 or 2 people there frantically trying to prepare 10+ boosts right as they open.
I don't envy those that are on the opening shift tomorrow lol.

        • +2

Math does not check out. Takes them over 5 minutes to make one drink.

          • @bobzor: Do they have only one blender? Just asking.

            • @xoom: They have 2. Still would take 25mins!! Too late for maths 😂

    • -1

      Exactly my thoughts. Crap deal

  • +3

BTW does it say what size? I can't see it anywhere. Could get a big one and split it in two for the 11th ozbargainer if i'm 10th.

    Or if you're the 10th, I'll bring a keepcup!

Thanks OP, motivation for an early Gym tmr.

  • +1

    Gonna pitch camp

  • Pointless. If you don't get it they'll bank on many ordering anyway.

  • +5

Linux Boost Juice is free if your time is worthless.

    • +3

So how much are you making while your reading the thread and making this comment?

      • What? You don't get paid while reading & posting? 😉

  • +1

    Yeah nah

  • 10 first person would be just family or friends of Boost’s staff they’re just already there before anyone come

  • +1

i guarantee you if you go there about 3 people will be there to do it too at opening time, if that.

  • +1

This is like one of those eBay deals gone in a flash, except with this you've actually gotta line up.

  • +2

taste shit and full of sugar. wouldn't get it even if its free

  • Get something with fresh fruit instead of processed juice bought from Aldi

    • Have you ever even been to a boost juice?

      • They do have a point of just eating real fruit instead of drinking juice…

      • +1

Yes, you watch what they put in them. Half of it is literally reconcentrated juice from Aldi. They also use sorbet and a tonne of ice. Some of them like pure eden are a little better but overwhelmingly they are not as good as they make out.

    • What

    • What's Aldi got to do with it?
Btw Aldi sell all types of juices, just like other supermarkets.

      • I see the owner of my Boost store in there buying trolley fulls of the stuff. From Aldi typically means lower quality. You buy this expected pure fresh juice, but it’s not.

        • From Aldi typically means it's cheaper, not that it is any lower quality than equivalent products from Coles, Woolworths or any other supermarket. That is a ridiculous thing to say.
All of the supermarkets stock a range of juices from high quality fresh Australian juice, right down to imported, reconstituted juices.
I do agree that Boost juice should not contain any of these, but that's a different story.

  • Let the games begin

  • +2

Local opens at 9:30am. Still going to be a queue. Two/three families and OOPS, ALL GONE! Not worth queuing but if you get lucky or can game the promo… why not :)

    • +3

i can game it, there is 2 boost juices within a km of me, one opens at 9. one opens at 10. ill get 2 i bet you, people wont rush to get this.

    • +1

lol in our town that would be one family

  • +1

cool, just checked out the opening times. Henley Square for an 8am boost, 9am for another at Glenelg and 11am for another one closer to home at Arndale or West Lakes.
The plan is there for any one in the West (of Radelaide)!

Original berry bang contains 118% (65 g) of recommended daily sugar intake (55 g)

    https://www.boostjuice.com.au/drinks/all-berry-bang/

    Wouldn't get even if free

    • Ouch! The dentist bill makes the cheap sugar hit a bigger cost in the long run.

    • +2

How so many of their health conscious customers think smoothies are healthy (compare to eating real fruit) is anyone's guess.

    • Relax and Carb the (profanity) up

    • +3

No idea why anyone still waste money buying this sugar water.

I recalled the interview where she was challenged about how she can call these drinks healthy and her response was, it's healthier than coke.

FFS, smoking is better than shooting up but you don't go preaching a fag is a healthy habit.

Really surprised no one taken her to court over false advertising.

  • Just got 2x boosts at my local Caltex Boost Juice. I was first customer 30 minutes after opening time

    • -1

      Why 2? Caltex juice whhat

      Also name checks out..

      • +1

Had my 3 year old daughter with me. The promo says one per customer.

        • Yeah. One per customer and she's a customer. I did same with my 2 kids. Walked away with three.

  • +2

    I'm up, but can't be stuffed…

    • +2

Same. Woke up early but the rain is too heavy. Can't be bothered.

      • -1

where are you raining, i only woke up sweating sunrose at like 7:30-8

        • Sydney.

  • Nobody at Capalaba Park in QLD yet. Opening in 10. Should be easy!
    Thanks OP

  • Just got my free boost. There was no one else at the store and someone after me just paid for one lol/

    • +1

You didn't pass on the message to the person behind you? I did and the couple behind me gave me a thumbs up

    • There was no one directly behind me when I left. All I heard was the POS machine beeping after I was about 15m away. A bit late a that point.

  • Lining up now at Mitchelton Brookside. 1st one no line.

    • Got 5 .. nobody lining up. And the ones that did paid.

  • -1

Fk it I'mma head out at 10 for juice run.

Which flavours do yall recommend? Quickss tell me what you got

Why tf they got so many??

    • -1

Yeah missed out too late. If it went thru would've hit a couple more stores.

Ended up buying some Juice from Woolies :D

Caribbean Green, two and Five blend, and Wondermelon would've been my picks. One for each sibling but they still snoozing

  • +3

they tried to make it hard at my one, the girl didn't know about it. i felt bad because i got there 2nd and there was a family of 3 there very disappointed as they were just told that store is not doing it. so they left. i almost did too but then i checked the facebook page, it clearly says every boost store in the country, so i made her ring her manager and lo and behold she 'found it'. after that the 10 were taken quickly, not helped by a family of 6 coming. but hey i got it.

  • +1

My partner and I went, but the store owner says they can only do 1 per couple, and refused to give us 1 each

    • +4

rookie mistake. Pretend you don't know each other, separate transacts

      • Lol. Too late. My partner pointed to me, and said to the owner one each please.
I'm sure he recognises us now

        • they just make up their own rules to try to get out of it. it's one per person. Janine wouldn't like that. what is supposed to be good publicity turns into bad publicity when they weasel out of it.

    • +1

They tried that with my two kids and I. Said only allowed 1. I said NO WAY! THREE CUSTOMERS HERE! ONE EACH!!
And so they gave us one each ;)

  • Went with my family, got 3. Got to the store 10 mins before opening and only 2 other people were there
