    Why is this for Amish ?

    I thought they were reluctant to adopt modern technology.

    • +2

      No, no. You're sadly mistaken, this is for Aimesh people. Who are like Amish but have adopted modern ways of living and have embraced technology.

  • Will this work on NBN?

    • Boss, depends on the type of NBN.

      • FTTC?

        • Ethernet port. Yes.

    • +2

      Yep compatible with NBN.

      FTTN/FTTB = ISP provided or BYO modem—->ASUS router 1—->ASUS router 2.
      HFC/FTTC/FTTP/FW = NBN provided NTD/NCD—->ASUS router 1—->ASUS router 2.

  • probably a reasonable deal if you go halves with someone

    unless you live in a multi storey mansion

    • Yes, very good range with AC68 at home

  • Still waiting on some new Wifi6 (AX) deals to come out… still far too expensive at the moment…

  • I have an AC68U, moving into a small townhouse with FTTP.

    Do I need this?

    • +2

      Unlikely. AC68U will do you fine.

    • I just got FTTC and I'm using an AC68U in a 2 bed unit, the AC68U is perfectly fine. The WiFi is actually faster than my Powerline.

      edit; I should say mine is DSL-AC68U

  • I bought this from Umart a few weeks ago during a flash sale for $239 plus delivery.

    First impressions (with ABB 50/20 HFC) - router was a little hard to pair at first (needed both units to upgrade firmware). I have mine connected using ethernet back haul. I am still having the occasional drop out during Skype for Business calls when I move around the house from the node to the main router. I cannot figure out if it's the routers or my iPhone 8. That said, Jack from Asus on Whirlpool has been helpful with suggestions to try and help.
