Philips One Blade 2-Pack Replacement Blades $19 Pickup @ Target

720

Good price, usually around $40 I think. Purchased three today. Website said no stock at my local store but they did have stock when I went in. Not sure when it expires.

These don't shave as close as a traditional blade.

Nothing beats a straight razor, all these beard trimmers are still great for general trimming when you don't need to get that clean look they do fine with either shortening the hairs or if you're looking for a bit of stubble

      • +5

I find using a trimmer before my razor helps as when I've gotten a bit of length to the hair it clogs the razor quite quickly and takes a fair few passes to get that close shave which irritates my skin a bit.

Edit: just noticed you said they didn't show stock on the web. Any stock left in store?

        • Only had the three when I went in. They never seem to put many out on the shelf. I’ve been in once before to purchase the only one they had left and the next day they had put more out.

Any deals on the actual One shavers?

    • They had the OneBlade on clearance as well for $49 but idk if that's a good price.
I have the OneBlade Pro, I can't imagine going back to swapping head sizes, this version is so much better.

      • Thanks, they've been cheaper but I'll bite if I see that price. Don't need the adjustable guard since I'll just be using it for quick n dirty shaves when lazy / travelling.

These things are junk. I'm so disappointed with mine. I bought a Wahl trimmer and use a normal razor. So annoyed I wasted my money on it.

    • +1

      Why is that?

      • +3

I used it for trimming my beard and shaving. I work in mining so don't need it smooth. Just tidy.
It was slow to trim and slower to shave. If have to go back over the same spots when trimming or shaving. So skin irritation and general frustration were common.

    • +4

I use mine daily and it's great.

I'd you're expecting a razor close shave you will be disappointed

      • +3

Yeah I use mine a lot too. I have no regrets. Perfect for beard maintenance.

    • +2

The battery is fantastic, my only issue with it is trying to trim under my nose with the head attached. It's impossible. You need to take the head off and very delicately freehand your moustache trimming. Potentially terrifying.

      • +1

I do exactly the same thing. Its kind pf annoying

      • Same issue here. I tend to do a mixture of pushing my nose to the side to get in close, setting it to one shorter than desired, or like you, very carefully freehanding it with the head detached.

I was reasonably happy with the shave it gave, but the plastic clips on the blades were incredibly flimsy.

First blade I used snapped off from normal use in under a month.
Amazon sent me a replacement, I knocked the shaver over in my basin and the blade snapped off again. Got a full refund from Amazon.

It's honestly less than 0.5mm of plastic holding it together, and it constantly bends. Poor design.

  • No stock anywhere near me - looks like it's been Ozbargained.

  • Guys, for anyone looking for an insanely close and clean shave, you really should be looking at either a straight razor or if you need a machine, look for foil/rotary shavers, here's a good link to show you the kind of machine I'm talking about:

A quality double edge safety razor can get you results very close to a straight razor without the stress, especially if you aren't good with both hands. Mensbiz has 100 pack of blades for $15 at the moment…

Good First post OP. Thanks. This forum is about a bargain and not about comparing granny smith apples with red delicious. For that they can go to the Choice or other consumer websites.

  • had a Braun Cruzer 6 previously that offers much cleaner shave, was good at start, but after a while, the maintenance became a bit of a hassle.

with my 1 blade, these blades does the job exceptionally well for me.
I have rather sensitive skins, often have acne outbreak after shaving, but very rare with 1 blade.
and the only maintenance you need is replacing the blades. love it

with it not offers super close shave, got used to it, and I actually started to only have every 2-3 days because i have grown to like s bit of stubs

  • Got David Jones to price match my online order for Click and collect. Plenty of stock around Sydney

  • JB Hi-Fi price matched this for me last week, too easy.

  • Great post OP

As someone who has sensitive skin and razor bumps, i eventually made my way to a double edge saftey razor.

For anyone who tries this and gets irritated, look into a safety razor. Since then i have no irritation, and shaving is actually enjoyable.

  • no stock within 10 km

  • I have one, but only use it for trimming my beard. How does one actually use it for shaving? They don't have any official guide, and people on YouTube use a mix of techniques including using both leading and trailing edge, and with and without shaving cream.

From Phillips website - "OneBlade is not meant to give a close shave
The Philips OneBlade is designed to trim your long facial hair to a clean look."
    https://www.usa.philips.com/c-f/XC000002900/my-philips-onebl…

Yet also from Phillips website - "The Philips OneBlade can be used to shave, trim and edge up your beard."

You can use it to shave, you will be left with fine hairs. Can't get a clean shave from it (By design), they say it's meant to leave the hair in so it irritates your skin less as it's not pulling out the hairs. I used mine to shave this morning as I was too lazy to use my razor. If you want to get a clean shave with it I usually use the One first to make my facial hair short then apply shaving cream then either use my straight edge razor or my gilette razor depending on how much time I have, it really cuts down on razor burn as you are starting with very short hair it comes out easier and doesn't clog the blades.

  • Do these work on pubes?

    • +1

      Yes.

      • +1

        make sure you label it

      • Doesn't tear them out and cut your balls like all the others? Serious question.

  • Been holding out for this, thanks OP

  • +1

Two for $19 is a good price?

Damn Philips is (mod: edited) you people LMAO.

    • +1

Mate the normal price on these are way higher and they last over 3 months for me per blade.
$9.50/3+ months is a pittance to pay.

  • ARGH! Just bought a two-pack for $35 the other day

  • +2

Guys, the One blade is not designed to give you a close shave and it even says so in the product description.

It's for beard trimming + a good/great body trimmer (pubes, chest hair etc.)

  • Thanks op.

Jb hifi would not price match but the lady at David Jones did, after a few gasps at the price difference.

I bought 4. I love my One blade.

  • For anyone still looking for this might be worth checking out your local store. Mine was showing as no stock but had 5 packets in store. I've had the same thing when looking for some workboots at Target. No stock apparently but they really had ~30 pairs. Cheers scottwest for posting
