  • Will this work with Lenovo MoneyTree ?

Where on the Lenovo sales / customisation page does it tell you the model name ? And if we customise something, are we guaranteed to get that same model number ?

    • I think MoneyTree only works with preconfigured systems that are shipped to resellers/retailers.

  • Some example configurations:

    • ThinkPad E520
    • Intel Core i7-2620M Processor
    • Windows 7 Home Premium
    • AMD Radeon HD 6630M
    • 6 GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM
    • 750GB Hard Disk Drive
    • Lenovo USB 2.0 Portable 500GB Hard Drive ($1 extra option, why not)
    • AU$765.15 delivered (after 15% off)
    • Good deal, but i7-2620M is a dual core i7. The HP deal from HVN last week have quad core i7 for $599 - though that one has 320GB hard drive and a shocking mousepad. However, it was possible to get a Quad Core i7 with 750GB HP for $730 last week.

  • hmm…bring back the $100 discount for spends over $600 I say. I want the x121e for $520 again.

    • X121e + Intel WiFi Link 1000 + discount code = AU$543.60
better than waiting for another price drop.

  • Don't forget to use the cashback!

The T520 here provides an extra external 500 GB Hard drive for $1 extra. This might be slightly better than the other deal previously posted -

    • In the T&C: Configure to Order / Customised models are ineligible.

      • So, does that mean as soon as you upgrade the HDD it becomes a customised product?

        • I think all orders from Lenovo directly are 'customised' because the MoneyTree site links to dealer locations rather than to their online store. Also, there doesn't seem to be any model numbers given for the notebooks in their online store so it would be difficult to discern which are eligible and which are not.

Meh. Worse than last time, which was worse than the time before that. (yeah I have my config's price memorised - just didn't have the money to buy it last time and I still have a hankering for ssd)

  • @scotty, if you get $150 cash back from lenovo, what do you gonna spend on?

    • I am actually not aware of the MoneyTree, which seems to be applying to retailers only (rather than Lenovo direct). If you can get $150 cashback on Lenovo ThinPads from the retailer purchases, and you are happy with default configuration, then that would probably be a better deal than buying direct.

Too many laptops, waiting the lenovo's tablet next month.

  • I think i got a sweet deal for my needs. Would love it if the laptop were eligible for the cash back or moneytree but for laptops going for 820 delivered at this point in time, I'm pretty happy.

  • Loving the e420 I got with the last deal.

  • Not as good deal as last time (I got my E320 Enhanced for only $520 including the 320GB pocket drive), but this time there's a WWAN equipped E320 which is an excellent buy for just under $600.

  • dissapointing no option for sbs 2011 on servers would have like to get 20% off that they only offer foundation server 2008

  • My E520 arrived this week with a dead pixel in the screen. Rang up warranty and service and guys said it's only deemed faulty with more than 2 dead pixels (as in three or more). Feeling ripped off big time - I thought I am paying for a brand new laptop and I expect that to be free of defect!

    • That's generally the policy with most screens and it is under the terms and conditions of your purchase.

  • sometimes they may just give you the refurbish one if you try to swap it as well..

When i bought the HP LP2065 high end monitor(it was brand new bought it for 400 retail price was 899)4yrs ago i found one dead pixel. I rang HP and the guy mention its your choice, their general policy is 3min dead pixel, however even if he try to exchange for 1 dead pixel chances i will get is a refurbished monitor, not a brand new one..
