  • Looks abit topheavy in the thumbnail

  • The base is apparently wrought iron!

I have one of these and can vouch that they're very heavy and won't fall. They make a lot of noise too, a bit like an aeroplane. They push a fair bit of air for $99

Thanks OP, was searching for fans this morning and was about to buy it for $120 at Bunnings

You should consider Bunnings still. They have a DC one for $129… which includes a remote and 19 speed settings. Much better value than an AC motor and will save on power.

After setting it up and turning it on… I'm very thankful for the large selection of speed settings. These things have some serious oomph. Say goodbye to any paper you have in the room… it will fly away. Plus sitting at my desk and adjusting via remote is more handy than I thought it would be.

I would go with the Bunnings DC version if I was to get one.

      • By any chance would have any experience with the other DC fans like Kogan or Mi?

        • I bought the popular and well-reviewed Kambrook KPF849WHT (previous version Kogan rebaged for their DC) around Boxing Day and it has been great

I managed to get Myer ($169) to price match Dick Smith who had it for $125 at the time as I had some Xmas giftcards.

More speed settings than you'll ever need including truly silent, remote with LCD auto off and extremely sturdy build. I hope it lasts me a looong time as I've previously used $20 cheapies happily (except wanted a completely silent option this time).

      • Went and bought this one today on your recommendation. It's perfect. Cheers!

      • This is what makes ozbargain great!!

Thanks, got this as a bedroom fan. Yes. Wife thinks I'm insane. She's possibly right.

Speed number 1(of 19) is silent - as in not noticeable 1m away in the dead of night - yet still moves enough air to keep you cool in 30+ degree heat. I was slightly apprehensive about this idea and even as I was building it was thinking "what the f is wrong with you?", but in the end I love it.

        • +1

My exact thoughts too. Questioned my decisions during build and now love it.

Glad I don't have to move it often. Pretty sure the base is made out of compressed dragon bones.

        • as in not noticeable 1m away in the dead of night

Thanks so much for this description. I'm anal about noise so when normal people say "it's so quiet!" I just roll my eyes, but this sounds perfect. I had Kambrook one everyone raves about and the fan itself was silent but the oscillation made noise - is this fan any better?

  • My cashrewards link keeps failing. anyone same ?

  • Juat picked one up. Missing some bits. The motor etc came assembled and didn't fit in its own box, was taped up. The directions appear to state that you put the motor together as well.

Way too loud for indoor use, even in a garage man shed.

Will take it back, what so yoi reckon?

    • +3

I reckon that if you planned on using this indoors you were mistaken.

Also, sounds like you were given a previously returned item.

Also, who is Juat? Interesting name. Mexican origin?

  • Took it back. Yes they said it was a used item.

Is that because you used it?
