@seijai did you see this on some Chinese chat group that appeared on WeChat today? The same image has been heavily circulating across WeChat claiming it’s a government initiative and “the best CNY gift”.
If I’m not mistaken, this was an initiative provided by selected Priceline stores in ACT three weeks ago for the bushfire. It’s got nothing to do with the Coronavirus. Explains why some fellow ozbargainers can’t find this at their local stores right now. Also check the Pink Dot Sale promotion that’s on the box - ended Monday 20th January. It’s an old image from a few weeks ago!

Most would prefer to be pro-active than that Scomo's approach and look like you're fixing things after the fact.
The polite thing when you are the unwell person would be to cover your face / use tissues / wear a mask. In Asia you see people wearing masks in public for this reason… Unfortunately the Aussie culture is the complete opposite.

Did no one read the little writing on the picture? It says from Thursday 9th January to Monday 20th January 2020. This is an (expired) bushfire initiative, not a coronavirus initiative.

So let me get this straight about this virus
It’s “new” yet it was lab created and patented in 2015 (in development since 03’)
The patent expired (today, 1/21/20) on the day the first case is announced in the US
The patent also tells us the CDC helped make this! “This invention was made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an agency of the United States Government. Therefore, the U.S. Government has certain rights in this invention.”
And now magically a vaccine is in the works for it already? Yet the patent in 2015 already references a vaccine for it.

Just couldnt see a reputable vendor onlineTry Cambridge masks. Just ordered some today. Far from cheap especially after $70 postage for 4 masks. But can't put a price on health and safety and the masks have a 6 months typical lifespan
But Cambridge masks is a Anti Pollution mask, right? If the virus go onto the mask and if you touch it, you will still get the virus. Therefore, the Hong Kong hospital and news recommend disposable mask.
Halyard Child's Face Mask fits 4-12 years old and Medicom Medical Procedure Face Mask for Kids fits children under 6. However, none of these have rating so the protection is not high - The adult surgical mask has levels to shows the protection. The highest "normal" surgical/procedure mask is Level 3. Something higher than that, would be N95, which makes you breath in your own carbon dioxide.
Some 3M models like 1860 come in small size that should fit a child. However with the extra resistance to breathing the kids wouldn't like wearing it for prolonged period of time.
I got excited thinking these were 'Nokia N95' branded face masks… but alas they were not.
The 3310 branded masks just sold out before the n95 branded masks.

I went to several pharmacies today looking to buy face masks but all sold out. Included Priceline that had "all face masks sold out" notice on the wall.
The Government should urgently curb to prevent spread by the so many 43 flights(today arriving flights as reported on news) from all over China.This country has no experience during SARS and this is way bigger than SARS.

Apparently N95 facemask completely sold out in China and Japan. People all over that region are stocking up, that or some asswipe individual(s)/company bought all the remaining stock and on route to re-sell at 1000% markup to all those poor souls.

Double edged sword - Can genuinely help those who can't afford or can be used to sell and hoard , The price of a pack of 12 can go as high as $80 and as low as $25, I hope people at the max take 1 per person so others not so fortunate have some sort of protection. And that's locally, imagine how much residents of china would pay for it if the postage system still works

Corona virus is not spread by inhalation, so the N95 rating is irrelevant.
