  • Yeah the skates are an interesting idea..

  • Still illegal in most of states in Australia :(

    • Grey area, keep it under 10 KMpH and it's legal in most states

      • Most? Only Queensland as far as I know..

        • +1

          It's legal in ACT now.

  • Pretty good deal if you really wanted the skates as well. A quick search on ebay shows skates go for at least $306 and Scooter about $555 delivered.
Thats only about a $60 saving but probably beneficial to be buying from big retailer if any warranty issues.

  • Those skates look very stackable

  • I have an ES4 (the ES2 plus the additional battery) and it's good. Is definitely in the bracket below the truly great scooters, but for casual rides it gets the job done. AMA

    • Like going to KFC when you're over the limit ;)

      • You can still be ticketed for that, unfortunately.

        • So they will breathalise you on the scooter, what about on a skateboard or walking?
          Do you lose your license?
I've been getting on the scooter if I've had > 1 beer; ie 2 or 3 or 2 + shots.

Maybe yes, maybe no. Drunk while walking would fall under disorderly conduct in public, probably. Suspect can't breathalyse whilst on a non-motorised "vehicle" (sorry, don't know the legal term), so a bicycle/skateboard/walking probably mean not breathalysed, but if you're clearly drunk/not in control, then you'd be charged with something else.

TL;DR Just get drunk at home :(

            • @kwchaz: Never been disorderly and I always remain in control, but I sure wouldn't pass a breath test. Inebriation just makes me a nicer person, according to my wife. I think she takes advantage of that by sending me to get take aways on my scooter, otherwise I would just say I'm busy, use Uber.

      • I've had one very decent drunken stack not too long ago so these days are long over personally.

        • Back in the 90's I used to ride my motorcycle to sober up… adrenalin would stop the dizzyness.
