I've been getting a lot of users agree to a deal in OzBargain classifieds and then suddenly ignore me (still posting on the site), even when I politely ask them to let me know if they're still interested. Has anyone noticed this lately? All I can do is warn people not to waste their time with them if they're stupid enough to post another deal.
Ghosting from OzBargain Classifieds Users

Buyers, no issue with sellers.
If they ignore you, it's safe to say that they aren't interested. They just couldn't be bothered to actually say it.
Yeah, I know. Just annoying that's all (especially if someone else is interested)… like why AGREE to the deal then? I'm just going to warn everyone who responds to your future listings/offers not to bother…
The same thing happens on every free classifieds platform M0… What sellers routinely do to 'solve'/neutralise this problem is make the terms of any provisional sale very clear, and very short-term; as in:
'OK sure I will sell it to you. If the cash is not deposited into my account by tomozza though, I will assume you are no longer interested, and I will sell it to someone else.'
That way, you don't really need to keep track of anything much except your bank account. When someone puts the cash into that account, you send them the item. You pretty much ignore all the other 'tyre kickers'…
This is standard procedure re 'online selling'.
I haven't noticed it.
But if they don't message me again I assume they're not interested.Pfft thats nothing. How about people who book online for a service. Which then provides a reminder service. Then they don't turn up and never reply your check in message.
Some people are inconsiderate.
They have no relationship with you. If they don't reply, accept they're not interested and move on.

There's an OzBargain classifieds?
Yeah. Introduced last week. Check it out.
Some people are just inconsiderate, always have, always will.
Don't take it personally.
Seems like ozbargain classifies = gumtree clone with the tyre kickers haha (but at least users need to be registered for at least a year before they post
Although, I've had good experiences with ozbargain classifies so far as a seller - haven't used it in a couple years though
Haven't noticed this. Are they buyers, sellers or both?
