One mid-woofer ensures you’ll hear the faithful playback of mid-range vocal frequencies plus deep, rich bass.
Adjustable bass and treble controls let you customise your sound by individual room or groups of rooms.

    • I’m in the market…. anyone seen them cheaper?

Or get the Ikea ones for $149, which as teardowns show, is almost identical inside.

    • No air play 2

This is a big deal to some people like me

    • The $149 Symfonisk book shelf speaker and the $269 lamp have very similar audio hardware inside but there is an important difference.

The bookshelf is due to its design, very directional and is not as good for "filling" a room up with sound. The lamp is more or less the same as this speaker.

i am a little grumpy with sonos - just got an email to say my old play 5's are being put to pasture.
they are doing it in a way that if you still have one of these speakers - none of the new updates can be applied to any parts of the network (rather than just having 1 speaker with limited functionality).

    • Agree. I was recently going to purchase a whole bunch of Sonos gear, but with the latest issues I will be looking else where.

I'm the same. 4 of my devices are being retired despite working perfectly so I'm not keen to buy any more. Shocking way to treat long term customers!

    • Thanks for sharing.
And they are still selling Play:5’s at the stores.

      • That's the current (2nd gen) Play:5 released in 2015. It's the 2009 (1st gen) Play:5 that will stop receiving updates come May.

        • Understood. Thanks for confirming.
I was clueless to the fact Sonos was around back then.

Yes I would avoid Sonos for the time being until they clarify their stance on legacy products. Massive slap in the face of existing customer. Now they only guarantee support for 5 years.

  • Do these have bluetooth, some reports on google says no?

    • Removed 'Bluetooth Speaker' from Product Tag.

These appear to be Wi-Fi Speakers.

  • For a company I fell in love with - Sonos have really made a few massive mistakes recently. The recycling debacle is top of that tree. Destroying their own products despite them still working perfectly. Terrible.

  • Hope loud are these speakers or the IKEA ones? What figures in the discs indicate a speaker's loudness?

I have a Bose SoundLink mini which is ok, how Michelle louder would this be compared to it?

    • Much louder with much better sound.

These would be the same as the Ikea ones as the sound components are almost exactly the same.
