    • Hi bondiben,

We try and price match wherever we can. However with stores interstate, we will apply the freight charge when accessing for price comparison.

We are happy to price match their price, however with the $9.99 shipping cost included (based off of quote to ship to Melbourne on their website) it will total at $728.99.

      Kindest,
      Kiddie Country

      • They charge $9.99 for shipping to 2015
Your store charges $51.40 for shipping

        • Hi bondiben,

our freight price is much higher as we are located in Victoria, and they are located in Alexandria (2015).

We use a third party for dispatches and would be unable to match this freight price.

          • @kiddiecountryshop: Still $9.99 if they ship to your location in Armidale.

@kiddiecountryshop: If it isn't a bargain there is no need to post here
Saying that you can price match an every day price and trying to justify more expensive shipping doesn't help

  • Does this replace the Platinum Pro as the top of the range model?

  • +3

wow..this is more than I've spent in total on 11 car seats for our kids.

Check the safety tests. Latest results aren't great for the expensive seats. We have a britax, which was good in previous tests but now bested by sub $200 car seats.
    DYOR

    • Link?

      • -3

DYOR stands for do your own research. There's a choice page which links to Australian testing reviews.

        • Ok so you're not referring you this Britax model specifically

          • @motlking: More than likely there isn't any for this model yet. And until the testing is standardised the results are all over the shop.
Childcarseats.com.au is the site that has a lot of comparison testing. Mancini doesn't even say which Britax they have as there are heaps of different models.

            • @nafe: Thanks that's what I thought.

              • @motlking: Take the Childcarseats site with a grain of salt. The testing is not standardised, so you end up with a seat that scored well in pre-2018 testing having worse results after they change their methods. I used a combo of that site, product reviews and physically handling the seats to get an idea of the build, the mounting etc etc.

                • @nafe: In the absence of any other better site I'd trust Childcarseats.com.au as it's run by respectable authorities/regulatory bodies. The reason your old seat scored worse in new tests was because they strengthened the tests to be more stringent. This is actually a good thing. Same thing happens with ANCAP ratings for cars but they never re-rate cars previously test. E.g. a car with an ANCAP of 5 stars from 5yrs ago would not be as safe as a new car. If anything childcarseats.com.au is good because they provide this transparency so it's easier for consumers to understand that their new safety ratings are more stringent than in the past.

                  • @0 0 0: It wasn't my seat, just pointing out that they changed their testing. Also their scoring is not clear as you can have a high scoring seat, but it scores badly on several areas. Like I said, I used them as well as other reviews etc but would not base a purchase solely on their ratings.

  • Looks like the only added feature this has is in the installation process, useless for people who don't move the seat from car to car.

Question is, is it worth $130 to have this feature over the Platinum Pro?
    https://www.babybunting.com.au/britax-safe-n-sound-platinum-…

    • I'm pretty sure the 2 seconds it takes me to thread a seat belt through is worth less than $200 (I see platinum pro on sale often).

It makes even less sense if you use isofix.

      • Interesting it doesn't look like this model has isofix. Weird for such an expensive model.

  • I been watching this one for a while since launch.

The click tight system is what made britax successful in US and this is the first model they bring to AU after been introduced in US for few years.

But the price is not good, Babyshop has it on $636 every now and then (saw it at that price 2-3 times)

  • Don't see how it's a bargain, with competitors being cheaper as above…
