  • How long would a 2ah battery last? Say on high heat?
I assume any larger battery would weigh to much to be comfortable

    • According to this website

Using the 2.0 Ah battery, it ran on high for 2 hours, 41 minutes. That’s the lowest of the group, though both Milwaukee jackets were in the same neighborhood with their 12V batteries. On the high end, a Makita model ran right at 6 hours on a compact 18V pack.

      • -5

Makita product, stay away from it. Had so many issues with their products!

        • +9

And there are many others who have had zero problems with Makita products.

  • -4

    Who uses this in Australia?

    • +17

      People that are cold?

        • +24

Ahhh yes, that automatically means it doesn't get cold anymore.

            • -7

@squeeze: joking settle on the dislikes - its a russian hoax

    • +1

      People who are cold.

    • +12

It’s used to get shredded before Stereosonic!

    • Have you been to Melbourne….?

      • +1

How cold does it get in Melbourne at its coldest? We have friends in cold climate countries that keep themselves warm with "dumb" clothing.

        • +3

We used to keep warm in oil skins as well but I don't see them around much these days. Much better to work in a heated jacket than in umpteen layers of puffy clothing.

            • +4

@whooah1979: Presumably you'll be giving away all your warm clothes and heating devices?

Why not also stop wearing a seatbelt in the car too while you are at it, after all cars are safer than they've ever been before…

          • @freesteakknives: Oil Skins, Luxury!

We had to work down mill wrapped in wet newspaper after we cleaned it from being in septic tank all night.

            ~monty python :-)

        • +1

I think these are intended for people who work outdoors. People in colder climates tend not to stay outdoors for long periods and retreat into heated places.

Speaking of which, don't bother turning on the heater with one of these.

Be useful for a Canberra winter

      • +4

The most useful thing for a Canberra winter is Noosa.

    • +1

I use a 5v heated vest in winter indoors and outdoors under a jumper. It saves me having to heat a whole room.

    • Nightshift in construction. Gets cold at 3am when working near the Swan river.

Nobody I know uses one but the point is, think nightshift + outdoors + water body/wind

    • +1

      Tradies who don't work.

  • +2

    Can someone smell smoke?

  • So no deals on XL or XXL then.

    • Coincidentally enough sometimes I'll see a Bunnings with an AEG or DW heated jacket on clearance for $99-129 but it's only like the leftover XL :P

  • +1

Most likely I do not need it but the idea itself and the price look very interesting to me.

  • I think I saw this in store in Balgowlah NSW yesterday in the tool section…. if anyone one is interested to look at it.

  • +4

I will buy something does the opposite …

    • A singlet?

  • +3

Great for anyone who works outdoors early mornings/ late nights in winter.

  • Would anyone happen to know whether the battery can be hidden inside a pocket / sleeve? I don't want to walk around with a bright yellow battery sticking out of me.

    • +1

Yes the battery is concealed in inner pocket

  • Sydneytools also have it for the same price- https://sydneytools.com.au/product/dewalt-dcj060sxj-18v-liio…

I'm tempted to buy one but I'd like to try it on for size first, however I can't find a place in Perth that has it in stock.

    • Possible to order it at Bunnings and try it on. If it doesn't fit return it on the spot?

      • Might do that

    • you better purchase from burnings, I order $1000 plus steamer from Sydney tools. They have sent me the used steamer. And they are very slow at sending out the order. It normally took over a week .

      • +1

Yeah Sydneytools are only good for in-store purchases, not online from what I've read on previous deals.

  • +1

If you see it in store do they let you try it on? I used to think buying such a thing overkill but seeing regular hoodies and jackets cost like $100 anyway, may as well get this.

  • +1

If anyone finds them for that price in a large I'll take one in a heartbeat lol

  • Isn't the battery like $150? lol

    • +1

Pretty sure just a terminal adapter to accept any lithium 18V battery. Just need to mod the adapter positive/negative. All the BMS and battery protection controllers are on the battery itself.

  • +1

    Small size only

  • +1

People don't need this shit now that everybody can look like the Michelin man thanks to Uniqlo.

  • Need Ozito mod… Invested too much on Power X in the last 2 years on OZB lol

  • Any solar panels to power it for free?? 😂

    • Heaps. What can you fit on your back though.. and can you walk around when the wind picks up.. :-)
