My bike cost nearly 4k, and that's cheap going by some other guys. Its all relative. Go buy some thongs if you wish.
Where is the relativity between the cost of a bike, and the cost of the shoes your wear when riding it?
If you spend $600 on your shoes (I'm sure you can find some) are you overspending? Or if you spend $100 are you going the cheap charlie route?
It doesn't really matter… My bib shorts are Ali express specials "chenji" brand same for my Jersey. Excellent quality stuff for the price.
Depends what you want and can afford at the end of the day. And "looks" come into play too 😉

That brand 'Cheji' seems to sell bibs at a max $30. Bit nervous as the price implies a certain quality! Can you please send me a link to ones you have verified as good quality. Also any comments on sizing? Thanks!

But yeah if you buy from the chenji store on Ali you will be safe.
I buy two size up and they fit well. So I'm usually XL I have brought both bib shorts and top as 3XL and they fit me perfectly.

Carbon injected nylon soles? I kinda feel like any road shoes over $200 should have actual carbon fibre soles… Maybe just me though.
Any other options I should consider around this price or less?? I don't mind spending around 200 - 250 when my current pair have lasted 5 years..
Every foot is different of course. But I'd recommend either Specialized or Shimano.

That was meant as an observation, and certainly not an endorsement.
I'm leaning towards gren/beetle color as one of my bikes is literally bright green.
Biggest problem I see with this is just one BOA system. It will not be convenient. You do need two BOA systems on each shoe.
They have the plain black and plain white versions for $20 less a pair
