  I should not even be considering this - but from what I can find elsewhere online this is a fantastic price. I've wanted an entry level DSLR for years but these days it seems like a compact mirrorless like this is a far better option for a total noob. Cheapest I can find elsewhere is techbuy @ $684 on clearance, everywhere else is pushing $800. Someone please give me some cons for this thing…

    The what now? Do you mean the Canon RP? If so, that is really in a different class with a full frame sensor and different lens mount.

  Grabbed one as a gift for someone else, everywhere else is $750+ with jbhifi selling for $900.

  Did a quick look online, seems like a good beginner camera so will make a good present for someone.
