Just a heads up to people who have never had the value range before: it’s really not good value, even at $3 or $2. It’s quite bad.

    • +7

It is the only pizza I usually buy :(

    • +14

Its a value for a 4 dollars lunch though, particulary in the city where large chips cost 4 - 6 bucks.

    • +9

Hard disagree, the pepperoni 'za is pretty good since it's really hard to screw up. That being said, the quality does change a lot between Domino's stores.

    • Got to be less nasty than a $6 6" Subway. $5 don't get you a lot these days.

      • +3

Yeah it is hard to get a filling meal for $5 these days.

Subway footlong pizza melt is $8.95 and even that is expensive when you count the ingredients.

Kebabs are $8.95 if you are lucky but usually $9.95.

Chips imho is a snack and not a meal but if you add gravy or mash potato I may change my mind.

Some places have laksa and other Asian lunch deals for $9-11.

Pub deals are usually also same around $10-12.

Domino's is amazing honestly still giving $5 value range choices so for $4 this is pretty good service to society imho unless you are one of the new breatharians who don't need anything but oxygen to survive on this planet.

Personally I could use a good diet but food is such a nice vice I'll take it.

      • That's why farmers markets and cooking exists ay *taps head

But for real before I learned how to cook I was always broke.

Now that I can cook, I'm like pshaw I can make it better.

    • +1

I agree, The traditional pizzas with voucher codes easily available are a lot better value than the Value range pizzas. I think they are really for people who dont use vouchers for the other types of pizzas.

      • Where do I find these vouchers. Help a brother out. I'm tired of playing Russian roulette with these value Pizzas

        • +1

There is a dominos section on ozbargain, click on the dominos store on ozbargain and you will see all the current codes. Plus if you do have an account on dominos then you probably get those email codes sent to you.

    • +4

Disagree - for a lunch time meal, for $5 even it's an awesome deal. Especially Vs their $10 range, as well as the other fast food/take away options

    • +2

You made it sound as if the other ranges are good value. Traditional or premium pizzas are certainly less value, I can’t justify buying even discounted item from those range.

So I just get value range. And this coupon saves me 20%.

If I want an Italian pizza instead of fastfood, I don’t go to Domino’s.

    • I can buy the most expensive Pizza but my daughter would only eat Simply Cheese pizza (when she does) from Dominos for the reason we don't know. So for me this Pizza is priceless and deal is great! But she won't be eating this pizza today, lol.

    • Pizza is something I realised I took for granted in Australia…I was in Malaysia for 6 months and their dominoes is more expensive than here and tasted far, far worse than anything on the value range here.

    • -1

I would beg to differ. I love the pepperoni and that stuff is expensive to buy. Not to mention it is fresh dough made in store.

  • +2

If you want Hawaiian get the ham and cheese and add pineapple for $2 lol

    • +1

Last time I did this they forget to add the pineapple.. -_-

On the upside I got a free pizza out of it.

      • When you told them you asked for pineapple and they didn't and you had receipt that shows proof or no receipt?

  • +3

Pro tip by some sauces from coles/woolworths/aldi/etc I recommend peri peri and some kind of chilli sauce but really whatever you fancy and add to almost any value range pizza for extra cheap flavour.

Can be delicious can be disgusting it is up to you really and how much you value your dignity lol (if you do it at the restaurant).

Can also buy your own oregano, dry toppings and whatever herbs or spices you prefer or fancy.

$4 is still too much for what they give you but I cannot make the same pizza at home well enough maybe only 65% as good and I find their ovens are better than mine (not woodfire great but still better) plus I save on my own electricity and clean up but at the expense of a wasteful pizza box.

I would say they need better dine in options but then the hassle of dish washing and collection becomes another obstacle and I know some domino's would not be able to maintain that so here we are right now.

I am feeling like something cheesy today maybe hmm what sauce should I bring?

    • -1

A lot of people (not necessarily people on here) have left their dignity inside the womb it seems.

Bringing your own sauce is the dignity between retiring at 70 Vs 75, it isn't like it is stealing I'll do sauce. I rank it the same as bringing a $1 bottle of water when you know it is going to be going at $3 at the venue.

      • +1

So would you say it is judged poorly or highly or frowned upon by watching bystanders?

I would say that is a smart and efficient person but I think 99% would say cheapskate in their minds.

        • +2

If you think about what other people think you will be doing yourself a disservice. If you are not stealing or hurting someone else then be cheap. You know your real friends when the money runs out.

          • @netjock: Well I mean if we all bought the cheap items on the menu a business would go out of business right and that is people's livelihoods sometimes assuming they are not charging like $200 for a steak or $30 for a coffee.

            • +1

@AlienC: You can also not going out and by anything if you think restaurants are selling at a loss.

On the internet you can pick you poison or just flip flop between arguments to support your idea:
              1. We can't all buy cheap stuff because businesses will go out of business
              2. We want people to post cheap deals on ozbargain so we can all have opportunity to buy it
              3. Businesses should honour misprice for their reputation's sake
              4. I am waiting for this one: why don't we take voluntary pay cuts so everyone can have a job because I can do with one less investment property.

            • @AlienC: I don't owe anyone a living. They offer it at that price. We are allowed to accept.

              • @syousef: Fair enough I believe in that too also my mind just sometimes wanders.

                Best prices best deals.

                Always.

                • @AlienC: I commend you on not taking my comment personally. Seems rare these days.

                  • @syousef: No problem I'm in a good head space now and try avoid stupid stuff like that unless I'm trolling or having a rough time but yeah trying to keep my head above level now because sometimes life makes you act a different way offline and online.

Thanks you seem like also a level headed good guy.

      • What restaurant charges for water?

        • Venue can also mean the park where they is a food van.

Pick a word, interpret it narrowly and imply someone else is stupid.

          • @netjock: No I'm not implying anyone is stupid…I didn't think you meant an actual venue. I don't think the two things rank the same. I like to carry water with me regardless, I have water bottles/bottled waters at home so what's wrong with bringing bottled water say to the movies, a footy match, a food van park etc. If anything, it's probably part of the reason why it's $3 because it's inelastic and those who didn't bring one will still probably buy it. This means they have more storage for other things that are less common than water.

        • Bottled water you know that thing we still insist on making.

    • Can be delicious can be disgusting it is up to you really and how much you value your dignity lol

When looking for cheap pizza there is none of that to be had sir

      • Well said I unfortunately concur

  • +8

Just a tip, change to "deep pan" at no additional cost. Thicker dough so basically you get more pizza. Taste better too IMO

    • I go for the thin and crispy to avoid the extra calories :D

      • +2

        thin and crispy

You should have asked them to reduce the price :p

      • +4

It's actually has more calories than the regular base, as they add loads of butter to the dough to get it crispy.

        • +1

          Huh, seriously? TIL…. thanks

          • +2

@Zazer: Yeah, it's pretty counter intuitive. Take a classic cheese pizza from Dominos. 1 pizza has:

            Classic crust: 1,008 cal

            Thin n Crispy: 1,136 cal

            Deep pan: 1,280 cal

            Cheesy crust: 1,392 cal.

            Edge: 1, 464 cal

So as you can see classic is the lowest cal option, while filling you up quicker. Looks like the toppings are the real killer though, especially the sauces. A cheesy garlic has more calories than a beef and onion. Go figure.

            • @[Deactivated]: Thanks. I was wrong.

I need to say I go for the Thin & Crispy as a calorific shortcut :D same calories, less mass.

            • @[Deactivated]: Pepperoni (calories/serve):

              Gluten free: 150
              Thin Crust: 240
              Classic: 215

So go the gluten free option for less calories?

              • @Tiggrrrrr: GF costs extra though… and not very tasty.

    • That is what I do :D

  • Thanks MOD, NBG on primary code but alt code works fine .. :-) . !!

  • how on earth the franchisees gonna make any money at all? Loss leader? Not much to upsell in a pizza shop no? Apart from drink?

  • Is size of Value Pizza (Simply Cheese) same as their traditional pizza range?

    • -2

      I think it’s smaller

  • this is good for 2 servings of 2 people

  • I tired for lunch today at Parramatta. Church Street Parramatta doesn't accept this code :(

    • did you read the post, it specifies online ordering only

      • +1

yes i ordered it online, but the specific store would not accept the code

  • +1

I ordered a spicy vege trio but they made a Margherita so I got a free garlic bread too, not bad for $3.95.

  • +1

    I ordered 10 because I'm on a diet.

Not because pizza is part of the diet, but because apparently buying mass quantities of pizza is what I convince myself to do when I'm dieting.

They're in the freezer now, hopefully I can make them last a few months… D:
