1st rule: publish a book on how to make wealth

    • +1

      That's true!

I'll show you how to be a millionaire, pay me $50 and I'll show you how.

    • 2nd rule: Do seminars on how to make wealth.

3rd invest in time shar… wait that's not right scratch that 3rd one

        • Or invest in some dodgy stock

    • I just rec'd my copy of this book…

I'm Happy the company donates $20 for Fire Relief

but…I think I'll keep my "'Barefoot Investor"
      (& its Audio-Book version) & donate the $10 book
to a charity to [try to] sell to another

  • Wonder how safe the site is to put your credit card details on

Got one anyways since its going to a good cause

Wonder how safe the site is

Maybe that's how the author is building their wealth ?

    • Lol use a prepaid cc.

    • Compared to, eg, Canada @ the moment, AU's credit card safety seems High.

(CBC reported, that a high-end (boutique?) hotel has overcharged guests
      THOUSANDS of CA$,

Arrange a stay costing, eg, $433; get charged $4,330, as if by "extra 0"
typo. Contact them, & be ignored… even after a month.

      Similar "coincidences" hit several guests…)

Correct me, if I'm wrong, but - in AU - all we need to do is report over-
charge, possibly include a Stat.Decl'n, with that, & our money's Safe.

In CA, Canadians don't seem to have that level of protection.

Hopefully, this recent case & CBC report will bring them the missing protection.

Golden Rule # 1 – Always think long term
Golden Rule # 2 – Set two important goals: how much income you need and by when
Golden Rule # 3 – Spend less than you earn and invest the difference regularly
Golden Rule # 4 – Grow your asset base first and then concentrate on income second
Golden Rule # 5 – Strategically set your asset allocation to reduce risk and maximise returns
Golden Rule # 6 – Invest in the share market using a low-cost, passive investment method
Golden Rule # 7 – Only invest in property that is deemed ‘investment-grade’
Golden Rule # 8 – Protect your investment strategy from expected and unexpected risks

    • sooo basically common sense?

reading the book may give more insight into how to do these things though?

      • It does sound like common sense

      • Our (sadly) once burned (by bushfires)
        "Barefoot Investor" added AU-specific
companies, who the uses for his invest-
        ments, eg:

        • Super' fund, w/ Lowest Fees, AU-wide
  • +1

Have read it, rate it highly. A good followup to beginner reads like barefoot investor

  • Find it strange they insist on a tel # .

I don't want to hear these !@ ers preaching their crap , just want to buy the book ( give a little to the bushfire appeal ) but can't .

Anyway tks jv for sharing :)

    • they insist on a tel #

If you have internet that requires you to have a landline (or has a VOIP line for free), put an answering machine on that, turn the answering machine's volume down, and give out that number. Never give out your mobile number.

Always good to have a "dummy" phone number for such websites.

Seen (first, on Whirlpool, later) on OzB:

        • MyNetFone offers low fees for a DID number
ie, a VoIP phone number (eg, $5 / year), ie,
IF you get it on a "Whirlpool plan" (Fees ONLY
when you ring out, or your DID # needs a Renewal)

Their DID #'s appear like "landline" #'s

You can find a VoIP app, so your corresponding
device becomes your VoIP phone (ie, with right
device, etc.), ie, No H/W to buy.

  • Whoops I read Prosolution as Prostitution.
