Saw this at Woolworths Top Ryde NSW, quality sliced ham at half the price in the deli section. Dunno if it's this store only or nationwide. Still shopping so I can't check. Just wanted to let you know before someone 'hogs' the rest of it :)

20% Aussie product (most probably the sodium).
With African Swine Fever increasing internationally, I am more selective with cured pork products lately. Unfortunately, the majority of ham, bacon etc are all imported. Coles and Woolies only stock 1 locally made product, usually from Bertocchi.

Yep… Saw that on the labels recently, stopped buying them.
Try this…
A real ozbargainer will buy pork belly at $16 a kg, cure it in brine in the fridge for 5-7 days, then smoke it on the weber to make your own bacon. This is what I am currently doing.
$35kg for Aussie bacon, $30kg for Aussie Ham, or pay about $9kg for a big 4-5kg Ham Leg to distribute to family and friends.
I was going to mention this. Saw this on the packaged ham in the fridge section today. All of it is around 20% made of Aussie ingredients. Surely there is better stuff around??
Got to save all the good meat for export and tax the shit out of mediocre imported meats because that is the new Australian way.

Can i ask why? Are you a farmer?
African swine fever isnt a risk to humans, unlike swine flu.
Most D’Orsogna whole leg ham at my local Woolies has expiry around 20-21 Jan. Most probably Woolworths are now slicing them up and trying to clear stock before it expires
What's the number for Bite Back with Kent Brockman again?
