Bought one to try, thanks OP. Some good reviews on Amazon UK if that helps anyone.

  • Does anyone know how this one is?
It's cheaper than any of the other ones, but I can't find any reviews of this anywhere.

  • ……I so want BT but god thats ugly

No idea, why Nintendo didn't just allow bluetooth audio from the start…

Couldn't agree more and if not, then include it in the revision model.

No idea, why Nintendo didn't just allow bluetooth audio from the start…

I think they assumed people would use cheap headphones that resulted in obvious lag/sync issues that would increase warrenty claims/returns of their switch.

      • Probably doesn't have Bluetooth 5.0 so would have lag?

      • -2

Bluetooth has unavoidable lag. If it's Bluetooth standards compliant it has lag. This is because Bluetooth wasn't designed to be used as a transport for high quality audio, it was designed for phone calls.

There are propietary versions of Bluetooth eg APTX or LDAC which reduce this lag and up audio quality but they require both devices to support the propietary protocol. Which means that Bluetooth headphones will have lag so they're not appropriate for video.

        • Yeah but two of my bluetooth sets are fine with no noticeable lag.

      • Maybe for simplicity… how would it work for multiple players with multiple headsets … also I thought the controllers were Bluetooth so games that support lots of controllers could therefore be expected to work alongside one or more headsets - there must be a bandwidth limit to how this can work and they err to supporting more controllers and not headsets for simplicity?

        Just a thought.

        • Some of them support 2P and thus dual bluetooth headsets. Look up the Homespot bluetooth for Switch.

      Hideous…..

This is a much more attractive solution.

    • My thoughts exactly

  • -1

Bluetooth 2.1+EDR appears to be some function to make pairing happen faster and use less power, nothing to do with audio lag which happens because of encoder.

Can't find much about "Bluetooth 5.0+EDR" so it appears to be bollocks but I might be wrong.

I can vouch that the Genki for Nintendo Switch works well with aptx-low latency.

i got the gulikit one from aliexpress. i recommened this one as its slimmer and allows me to store it with my switch case.

also works well with my soundpeats headphones. you can probably get it roughly same price as the one advertised on this post using aliexpress coupons.

    • Do you reckon it would stay in the plug if I have a hard case around my Switch (like maybe 1-2mm thickness around the charging port)? Ta.

      • +1

not sure about your hardcase, but i had a harcase like this and it was fine. case needed to bend a tiny bit but it still fitted really well.

  • God damn Nintendo it's 2020. Stop being pathetic and include bluetooth

I found the “better” slim ones that people were posting Ali links for at a local place at a similar price - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/174128226394?

Saves waiting 26 months for Ali shipping.

    • I wouldn't trust delivery estimate on that listing. Profile says Hong Kong so it'll probably be delivered in Ali time. Probably why it's so cheap compared to real AU sellers who have it for around $35 typically

  • So anyone found a solution that works with the Skull and co cases?

  • +1

Yeh found the Gili u shaped adaptor since my post.

Hard to get on it's own apart from Aliex or buy with the Route kit

  • I got mine, trying to connect it to the Sony WF1000mx3, but haven't been successful. Anyone had any luck or can help?
