  • Already have a Wahoo Kickr or I would be all over this. Second hand Gen 1 Kickrs are selling for this price on FB Swap groups.

  • This just got reduced again now it's $779

  • will it be able to recharge my phone battery?

    • +2

No, you need the Jetblack Whisperdrive Mk 2 for that - https://www.jetblackproducts.com/products/JBT-WHISPER-SMT

      • cheers.

in current eco friendly / sustainable environment, why cannot more firms do it? it's not that hard…

        • They're completely different style of units. The JetBlack is more like the tacx Neo style of self generating resistance, whereas the Elite is like most others that have their resistance created by a wall power supply.

FYI, the JetBlack unit was slammed as being a POS that wasn't ready for market a year ago, not sure how much of that got fixed.
So while it may be able to charge your phone, it failed in being the trainer it was designed for, s far from eco friendly investment.

  • This is a good price. As someone with a wheel on trainer i often wish i got a direct drive

    • Now is your chance :)

  • Own one, bought for over a grand about 6 months ago. Its fantastic on zwift though sometimes the cadence jumps around a little. Its a no brainer at this price.

  • Its also on ebay for same price if a coupon pops up (from pushys).

    Belt problems are common.

Id probably spend more on another trainer but this is a decent deal

    • thanks - good pick up, have updated the OP to have this

      • But does the package include 12-month free subscription to the My E-Training Software & app - It's listed in the original https://www.pushys.com.au/elite-direto-direct-drive-smart-tr… but not in the updated one?

        • +1

Pretty sure it will. The Elite "My E-training" software code is included in the instruction book packed by Elite.

        • It does unclude 12 months of the Elite program subscription.

  • I have an Elite Turbo Muin that doesn't have electronic resistance like this one has but it is direct drive. I use the gears to manually simulate a hill etc … is getting one like this with electronic resistance worth it?

    • +2

If you're going to use it with Zwift/trainer road etc. as a true smart trainer, then yes, upgrade to the Direto.
However, if you're going to do something a bit weird and not use any smart features and only ever manually adjust the Direto resistance using remote control, then I'd say you're totally wasting your money.

  • Be aware the price drop for this is to clear old stock since Direto model has been obsoleted by new "Direto X"

  • I have a kickr core. Use it a lot for zwift.

  • Damn I really want one of this but only have one bike to work with. Is anyone fine with constantly putting on the rear wheel?

    • Yup, that's what I do. Once you've done it a few times, it takes less than 2 minutes. That's with a TA though, I suspect QR skewer would take longer and be a bit more annoying.

      • Just as easy with the QR skewer - no harder than taking off/on rear wheel

        • Oh yeah, of course the QR skewer stays in the direto! I was incorrectly thinking you'd have to feed it in each time.

    • I bought a cheapie 2nd hand aluminium bike off Scumtree for $150 bucks and stuck it on the wahoo Kickr. If you have a cheap front wheel lying around you can even buy a fame and stick some spare groupset bits on it. Basically you only need a front wheel, some cranks and some gears. No need for a back wheel or brakes. You dont need light carbon parts so aluminium seatpost/handlebars OK. I bought a Giant frame for $150 and put some old parts I had lying around the garage onto it. Saves me risking damaging my expensive carbon frame putting it on and off the trainer.

  • You spelt GP Lama's surname wrong.

  • I've had one for around 18 months, never had an issue with mine. Brilliant piece of kit

  • I have had one for about a year now and it is great though I did have to return the first one after it stopped connecting. Pushys were great though - dropped it off and they gave me a brand new one which has so far been fine.

  • Thanks op! Bought one 😁

  • Found this one on ebay cheaper if applied with POLKA code, $729 free shipping.
Do pushys price match? Bought one from them the other day for $770 including shipping.
