  • 475ml for $8.50 ???

This is specifically aimed at Diabetics and people on a Low Carb diet. Whilst expensive compared to regular ice-cream, this is a good discount on the normal price.

      • +2

As pointed out last Deal - this is low carb.
It's not low cal due to high fat content (e.g. 50% higher than Connoisseur).

Diabetics should consult their Dr or Specialist about changes in diet.
Type 2 Diabetes is often associated with other health problems.
My specialist said no - eat other healthy foods & keep good ice cream as an occasional treat.

Um, Eating icecream is how the diabetics GOT diabetes and why the fatties are on a Low Carb diet.

        • Such dedication to an uninformed & disrespectful view!
Much easier than understanding this complex problem.

I mean why waste time on a quick Google when you can share such BS. But then your Username implies you don't think for yourself!

Hope your family genetics don't predispose you to weight gain (strong association).

          … or type2 diabetes!
Identical twins (identical genes) studies show when one twin has type 2 diabetes, the other's risk is at most 3 in 4. Another strong generic association. https://www.diabetes.org/diabetes/genetics-diabetes

We'll see what happens to you in time…

@INFIDEL: Well, I eat correctly and go to gym.
Both my parents are unhealthy, but, even though I was brought up to be a fatty, I DID THE WORK and STOPPED EATING BS FAKE FOODS LIKE THIS and now I'm in the top 1%, probably the healthiest person here on OzBargain (that's not saying much! 😂) and ripped.

            Mod: Removed Personal Attack.

Edit: Commenting on someone's username is rich, coming from you.

  • Thanks ! Chocolate added to the grocery shopping list to try out for the first time.

Tried Chocolate & Mint last Deal.
Wouldn't buy again based on taste & price.

If you're Diabetic - check with your Dr.
Type 2 Diabetics usually have other health issues to consider along with sugars.
Discussed this with my Specialist - she said not to bother with this. Mainly due to high fat content (50% more than Connoisseur).

Now greatly reduced intake to good tasting ice cream as an occassional treat - how ice cream used to be eaten.

    • +1

What is the problem with high fat content? Adiabetics main concern should be carbohydrate intake. My dad's type 2 diabetes symptoms completely reversed by restricting carbohydrates to less than 20g a day. Fat and protein amount does not seem to have any impact.

    • Just to offer a counter-review…

I enjoyed both of these flavours. I found the mint in particular one of the nicest mint flavours I have had of any ice-cream.

Price, I agree with. It is a fair bit more expensive than the other options there, but again, it is filling a small niche with something that is tasty

      • Taste, texture etc are very personal experiences, so will differ.
As do our experiences with different ice creams.

Wouldn't buy again based on taste & price
I considered the taste (it grew on me, but nothing special) did not justify the high price (sale price is almost twice the full price of Connoisseur for same quantity). It's not something I would buy as a treat.

For others it may be a welcomed change for their particular needs.
        Glad you enjoyed.

  • Don’t recommend this at all. Had a horrible laxative effect.

    • Because of all the artificial sugar - aspartame, phenylalanine, etc.?

  • +6

This is a niche product - keto icecream. It's high in fat (that's a good thing in my book), and the sugar alcohols used can cause laxative effect if you eat too much at once. But for what it is texture is very good and tasty - obviously not as good as full sugar icecream, but still yum YMMV.

  • More fat, no sugar?

  • Oh man, I like icecream but find most supermarket icecreams too sugary - this may be worth a try!

    • In my opinion it still tastes really sweet, however I tried a spoon after being zero carb for a couple months.

  • +1

Chocolate was ok for me, Vanilla tasted a bit more like coconut. I am still waiting for Coles to stock the Denada Peanut Butter flavor to try.

  • Got the double choc, main ingredients are cream and coconut cream, so expect a coconut taste. Tastes like double choc with coconut. I like it.

Remember, the choc mint has maltitol in the chocolate chips. They are working to source better ingredients. Until then, I'll avoid it. So that makes the double choc the lowest carb.

Expensive icecream so its a sometimes treat. Cocoa is good for you too :)
