I honestly don't think these are worth it even at this price.

Something like the 3600 6-core can be had for cheaper and at the same time outperforms this 8 core 2700 and also the 2700x.

AMD made very huge leaps this gen

      • lol the big jump already happened 2 years ago, now they are fine tuning Ryzen, with Intel scrambling to put anything competitive price wise on offer. My $230 i5 8400 from late 2017 does decent vs the ryzen 3600.

    • Can you link to a 3600 for cheaper than $240?

  • it is newegg, i think they will add tax and ridiculous shipping when you check out at the last step so the final cost is a lot more than that amount

    This is not good value.
2700x could be had for $199 not too long ago.
3600 which is much better is around $255 to $265 delivered with eBay 20% sale.

    • I wish they'd put a 20% code up.. I'm hanging out for a new build.

      • Agreed!

    • I'm sad I missed out on the 2700x deal. So much time spent on this site but when there's actually something I need I always miss it.

      • but how long was the deal on for before it expired, and who was the seller. I don't ever recall seeing a 2700x for $199, though I believe there was judging by the above posts, I never came across it.

In my opinion I don't think you will be picking up a new 2700x for $199 for quite a while yet or until the 4000 series Ryzen come out.

was only up for a couple of hours so yeah not viable for most people

          • @Top G: Thanks McCree

Thought so - by timestamp of members posts - out of stock in less than an hour, but for those who grabbed this deal on time and flipped the cooler for about $25 - $30, it becomes one hell of a deal.

  • these are ~$220 new shipped from aliexpress https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33028439679.html?spm=a2g0o.p…

    also used 1700's for cheaper…

    • Might be risky buying from aliexpress.. No warranty? Could be fake?

      • i can't help you if you don't trust one of the worlds biggest online retailers, there are fakes on every major platform, do your homework.

        • Nope, no fakes from a reputable brick and mortar store. They buy direct from AMD.

@toobzy: well you pay more for not doing homework, that's the difference, go pay msy $400

  • I'm still spewing I missed out on the Amazon 2700X $199 deal.

  • Whoops….. lets try that again;
Currently about $230 AUD delivered (to my postcode in VIC), if buying from Amazon US:
