What do you mean by "spool goes in on itself", please? Sorry, I am new to line trimmer.
Sorry mate. I meant the line going back in to the spool housing. If you forget to “bump” to bring out more line (you may not notice you’re missing some) it eventually means you have to open up the spool housing and get more out. Just a little painful with this model to do so (plus Dewalt instructions are awful).
Yes, I have this and it's a pig of a thing to refill the spools.
Has anyone had any luck with a third party spool replacement that does auto-load or one that uses the straight lengths of cord?
@Qbagger: Nope. Sorry mate!
What is the normal price? it is $245 at Total tools with free delivery
That is the skin, ie no battery or charger included.
Same kit for the same price at Sydney Tools: https://sydneytools.com.au/product/dewalt-dcm561p1xe-18v-50a…
[edit: incl free delivery]Are you sure?
"Please note: Line Trimmers are excluded from all Free Shipping Promotions."
Oops, you're right, no free shipping. Shipping to SA is $71. They must ship business class.
They could make this clearer on the website, most people don't read the description.
The price for shipping for me was ~$60. There is a store ~10km away and Couriers Please would deliver this for under $10.
So delivery pricing isn't reflective of their costs when they have stores locally. Even shipping it interstate isn't going to be that expensive to metro areas.
@Maverick-au: I'd almost be tempted to pay the extra $50 not to use Couriers Please. I don't think I've ever dealt with a company with worse customer service,
I have this. Good unit but a pain when the spool goes in on itself and you have to fix it. Other than that no complaints.
