Hey guys
Does anyone have any good experiences with multi meter clamp meters I should look at?
I bought a BSIDE amazon one for $60 but it was stolen, in the market for another.
Cheers

Thanks, I should have said less than $200, or around $50
A lot depends on what you are using it for, how often you use it, what voltages and what amperage you are needing to test.
You have posted it in the automotive section, so I am guessing you are measuring something related to vehicles?
If you want something simple that just does the job and is easy to buy and pick up with Aus. warranty, try Supercheap Auto. They have a clamp for $60 that should do the trick. (Or you can wait for a *0% off sale.)
Or, if you have a Jaycar close by, maybe this $50 unit would also suit?
I like the SCA one more, because it has the probe inputs as well as the clamp. I have used one of these from a guy at work who has one. The Jaycar one, I cannot say (appears the inputs are in the bottom of the unit).
Edit: That Jaycar clamp warranty… LOL! Says "lifetime" but I don't think that covers theft.
Warranty: 9999 Months
Just FYI that Jaycar clamp is AC current only.
Didn’t notice that. Not much good for automotive…
The Jaycar one OP would need would be this one instead, but it’s 1000A and $90.
Yeah I didn't at first either. Grabbed that one from Supercheap today, going to try and connect it's clamp to my scope, but will try and do a small review of it tomorrow before it gets pulled apart.
Oh, yes, please do. I got a credit from SCA that I need to use and it would be nice to not have to borrow the guys at works clamp meter.
@pegaxs: Will do. The crazy thing is that these units are heaps cheaper than the simple amp clamp adaptors for scopes, even though they should have the same circuitry for measuring DC inside.
@pegaxs: Ok I'm very late with my mini review but here it is. Refresh is fast enough to catch the initial high draw of a starter, which is nice. Low end also measures well once you push the "rel" button, otherwise it seems to pick up random readings. Happily measured the standby current on my fishfinder at 0.02amp, and accurately measured 0.9 amp with it in, which is spot on to spec. Forgot to take my other meter home to do a direct comparison between it measuring current directly and this, but hopefully this is reasonable info.
@brendanm: Thanks for that. I got one on my watch list, so might just go down and grab one to throw in the kit at work.
Uni-T are alright for budget meters.

The operating manual for the SCA unit indicates that it is made by Uni-T
The UT-203 looks like the same thing as the Supercheap one I listed above, just with a different badge on it.
Edit: or like what madreece just beat me to above… :D
Fluke.
