  • I've got this and its well worth the money, I paid $97 few months ago, works with extension and powerboards, haven't had an issue yet !

  • Shipping is $14 to VIC 3000

  • they are good, but "With high-speed data transfer rates of up to 200Mbps" is pure fantasy.

  • +1

Ive tried another brand of powerline ethernet adapters and sold them shortly after as they were worse than wireless for streaming data. It probably depends on the quality of your house wiring (my house was > 100 years old)

    • +2

hhhhaaaaa , the house is still standing .. I'm sure you might be the few lucky ones !!

      • They dont make 'em like they used to, thats for sure…
BTW I suspect it had been at least partially rewired sometime in the 80's…

  • Are we allow to post eBay items? Sydney local stock with Aussie plug. Brand new $49 delivered.

  • $69 is a good price. If you miss the offer, you can get it for $71 at Skycomp.

  • tp-link are pretty shit.

my usb wireless adaptor drops out constantly but the built in adaptor on my laptop never does.

    • It "can be" your router too (not saying it is). I have a Belkin router and half of my wireless device doesn't drop out whereas the others drop out every 15 mins…..

    • really i have a TP link router connected to my cable modem, best investment ever, works a treat!

i now love tp link, look at WP, read all the good reviews!

  • I'm building a new house and considering using these devices instead of paying for CAT6 ethernet wiring between rooms.

Obviously the network signal does not get out of the house, but can all devices in all powerpoints talk to one another, even if they're on separate fuses?

    • +3

If youre building a house at least pay to get cat5 ran, Trust me will save you issues later

      • +1

erm why get cat5, outdated, get cat 6. i retrofited my place with cat 6 for about 180 or so bux. cable was about 110 bux, for a 305 meter roll (still got heaps left) and cat6 points where a few bux each. wall plates a few more bux and a 12 port patch pannel about 35 bux.
4 in the study, 2 next to the TV and 2 in each bedroom.

erm i mean i got the electrician to do it.

        • Great idea man!

        • heeh but you need a sparkie to do cat6 cabling. it's only the power stuff that's got to be signed off by a sparkie.

        • i assume you mean that you dont need a sparkie to do cat6 cabling as you also said only power stuff that needs to be signed off, but from past readings it looks like any cabling needs to be done by a qualified electrician.

      • +1 for that.
Have the electrician drop several CAT6 cables in each room - even more in study room or entertainment room.

    • You are absolutely CRAZY if you are building a house and considering this kind of thing instead of a proper wired network.

This is like 1/10th the speed of a standard gigabit network. You'd be at 1990's network speeds before you even start!

  • Poor quality headline product but the 32Gb fast flash drive is a winner. Still gets a + from moi.

  • Is this one-to-one only? Can I use a network switch behind one of these?
