  • What's a newspaper,does anyone still read one

You could use them, to wrap up the glasses for transport.

I would rather be punched in the balls than give Murdoch one red cent or the climate change deniers that usually write for these rags.

cannot agree more mate, toxic bastards they are

    • +3

I assume you aren’t boycotting Coles though, whose advertising funds him

    • -4

Yeah, better off with the ABC than have to read both sides of an argument.

      • Stick to Al Jazeerah and The Guardian - very balanced.

      LOL.
Posts like this make me even more excited for #Trump2020

        Good for you champ

  • these glasses made in Germany, look flimsy though

    • Personally I think they're really good.

They are quality glasses. The last thing you want to drink wine out of is thick lipped glasses.

Do you know you can just buy the glasses as their retail is $1 per credit - the 25 credit boxes are $25

    • Yes but if you have 10 credits already, you only need to spend $15 or so. So I don’t agree with your neg, really I think it’s useless. But that’s just me

  • +2

But then you would have to read those newspapers…expensive paper for fire lighting as well.

    • +1

Nah, you just cut them into squares and use them as Nature intended.

      • Or you could use them as tissues to wipe away your tears once Trump is re-elected?

        • +1

We failed to see mass migration to Canada after 2016. Instead of leaving they all remained and the goal from the start was impeachment.

You won't read a non-progressive / left wing opinion in the SMH, The Age, Guardian or the ABC. If you want to read articles from both sides of political ideology, then Murdoch papers are not for you. If you want only leftist groupthink and conservative comments banned, then I suggest The Conversation.

Nah, it is particularly satisfying to use the squares with Trumps face on them for the other end. I want the Americans to re-elect him. I want him in charge when their economy crashes so he can’t say he would’ve done better. If you guys think that the Democrats actually want to impeach Trump you are crazy. All they are doing now is asking the American people, and the Republicans, how complicit do they want to be? To a lefty the idea of President Pence, with clear air, is a nightmare - even worse than Trump. If the Repubs had any brains they would get Trump to step down and find a less controversial candidate; Trump might be a short term gain but he will be a long term pain for them. History is not always kind to the populist and democracy can get it, spectacularly, wrong. If the Americans re-elect him they can’t say they didn’t know what they were getting. Me, I’m doing well out of the right wing Governments; I have my house, shares, Superannuation, savings in the bank. I just hope the earth can hang on long enough for me to make it out the door.

Polls aren't everything, but seems like that's the Americans want too.

You think this impeachment is making people want to vote for Democrats?

Complicit in what? How are they asking the American people that?

If the Repubs had any brains they would get Trump to step down

lol why would they do that?

            • @ozhunter: I think the impeachment will play well in the future when people look back and go “what the?”. Part of the trouble the Dems had with the WMD dossier debacles was they voted for going to war with Iraq, so they had no high ground. The fact that the majority of the hijackers came from Saudi Arabia, and none from Iraq, seems to not care to who the Americans decided to attack. They are, still, trying to extricate themselves. With Trump they can say “we stood up and we gave you proof, don’t blame us if you ignored it”.

Complicit by endorsing what Trump is doing. They can’t use the “I didn’t know” or “no body else seemed concerned” excuses. At the moment they can say they didn’t know what they were voting for, well know they do.

A year is a long time in Trump’s America, let’s see what he does between now and the vote. I do think they will vote him back in, but I don’t think a lot of people voting for him are getting any benefit from it.

Many people aren’t doing well under the right wing Governments. You, certainly, don’t want to be poor, disabled or sick. It is, also, a good idea to not be a minority or concerned about a viable environment. Right wing Governments are big on small government unless they are interfering in the lives of their citizens to further there own ideology. Hence their obsessions with religious issues. If people want to follow a religion, then fine, but keep it out of my life. They shouldn’t get more rights than their fellow citizens. SSM took so long to become legal because religions lobbied against it, even after polls showed the majority of Australians were for it. Have a good look at what the Freedom (to discriminate) religious bill that is being proposed. They even want to block the courts from ruling if religion is valid because the courts “aren’t qualified”. So they can discriminate against people and you can’t even get the courts to rule that the superstition lacks logic. With so many competing religions, with contradictory ideas, this is going to be a nightmare, if it gets up.

Personally, all I can do is point out what the current right wing Governments are like and wonder how low they have to go before the people say “enough”. What the Repubs are doing is allowing the next Democrat President a lot of room to do what they like. “You accepted worse from Trump” should be printed on flash cards.

I think it's the dumbest thing they've done. Anti-Trumpers might see it as a stain on his presidency. Others might see it as a badge of honor.

I do think they will vote him back in, but I don’t think a lot of people voting for him are getting any benefit from it.

Why do you think they are voting him back in? If they do, he is either doing a great job or whoever is the opposition doesn't have as good policies.

In the US, at least unemployment is down among minorities. Environment's fine.

SSM took so long to become legal because religions lobbied against it

You know Labor didn't push it though either? Lol, even Penny Wong was against it.

Have a good look at what the Freedom (to discriminate) religious bill that is being proposed

Haven't looked at it at all but I think there should bill for religious freedom. Why not when a huge portion are religious, especially if things like sexual orientation are protected.

Personally, all I can do is point out what the current right wing Governments are like and wonder how low they have to go before the people say “enough”.

I think Trump winning the electoral college by a landside is saying the people have had enough. The UK conservatives just had a pretty big win.

@ozhunter: We could play this ping pong all day. I can nay say everything you are saying but, frankly, I can’t be bothered. Believe what you like. Personally I’m letting history tell us what this period was like.

If you think the environment is “fine” then that tells us all we need to know about your arguments.
