    The Beam is much smaller & can fit in front of the TV.
    The Playbase is big so you put your TV on top of it, probably has better sound too.

    Soundwise, yes it is. Rest of the tech is same.

    Difference being, this is bigger and needs to be placed on entertainment unit and TV goes on top of it. You cannot mount it on wall, it is meant to be used as TV base. As it is bigger than Beam, it does have better sound quality, specially bass.

        Bit of a lie. This has like 9 or 10 drivers including a subwoofer. It would blow the soundbase out of the water.

  Play base is comparable with the playbar and definitely more high end in terms of sound but isn't as recent and therefore doesn't have Alexa/google control.

  I have both the playbar and the playbase (no sub and not the beam). I think the playbar is much better than the base.

  It (the base) does look neat when set up with the sanus stand and a tv for that pedestal look.

    I have to say, as my 7th Sonos product, I'm loving the playbase. It's pretty good for TV, I'm not a big movie watcher and not all that fussed on surround. The voice tracks are clear and sharp, the bass is excellent from the unit, and I find it Particularly musical when I'm using it for just tunes.
