Surfshark VPN AU $99.99 for 39 Months & 90% Cashback via Cashrewards (New Customers)

Seems like a pretty good deal for a VPN, works out to be around 25cents/month. Also, 1 subscription for unlimited devices.

For those concern with connection issues (i.e. Netflix), Surfshark offers a 30 day money back guarantee.

I have subscribed and cancelled this service in the past and it was hassle free, I received a refund within 5 working days. I cancelled this service because it did not offered physical servers in Vietnam which was my original intent in looking for a VPN.

  • so after cashback ,it's $10 for 39 months?

    • Yes I believe so, it might fluctuate slightly based on the currency exchange rate used to calculate the cashback

  • I still can't transfer my money out of my cashrewards account from last deal. Meh

    • +1

I’ve never had any issues. Just wait until you got at least $10 in your CR account, then then you can transfer to your bank account.

      • I'm having nearly $100 in my CR account

        • Almost $100, almost french.

    $99 Aussie dollars up front?

    • +1

Yeah so pay 99AUD now and receive ~90AUD back within 85 days

      • plus $10 GST? os its $109?

Tried this VPN last deal they had and cancelled after a day as it was just too slow. Went back to expresvpn. way more expensive but it works, never any issues and the speed is always very good.

    • +1

      not worth getting? slow speeds?

    • +1

Exactly the same for me. Used Surfshark for a trial period, something funny was going on. It was speed testing at or better than Express(which is pretty much the gold standard imo). However in real world application it was terrible. I could only watch Netflix at something like 360p, same issue with Prime Video, it was unwatchable. Tried a bunch of different servers, over a few days, switched protocols, nothing helped.

While doing all that I was testing on Express and it was having no issues maxxing out resolution.

Really unusual, I've tested many VPN's, and never seen such fantastic speed tests but such terrible performance, almost like some sort of manipulation going on.

  • For VPN aficinados I believe Surfshark have Wireguard on their roadmap for a Q1 2020 release.

  • How reliable is the netflix availability? On current vpn it is very hit and miss as they track down servers.

    • I've tried several, Surfshark was one of the most consistent alongside Express, but the price difference is noticeable.

  • Does netflix US work on Android TV?

    • To answer my own question, yes it does. I am watching breaking bad in 4k fine. It initially gave me the you seem to be using a proxy error but I force closed netflix and reopened it and I am away.

    • As long as the vpn provider can unlock netflix, the platform (windows, android etc) doesn't matter. Surfshark does have the android tv app so you can easily put that on your tv. But whether surfshark can unlock netflix, I don't know. It's supposed to be able to from what I've read.

Edit: Too late. Didn't see your reply :)

  • Is anyone currently using Surfshark for an LG TV? Used Winscribe previously for US Netflix, it was hit and miss.

    • I bought this trying to use it on my LG tv. Didn’t work so I cancelled and refunded

    • i have used it on Samsung TV, setup the dns via network settings provided on the surfshark website and was able to watch US Netflix on the Netflix App on the TV.

      • +1

That's smart dns but I don't think it works with LG webOS

  • I guess I wasn't fast enough to post. I'm using it since September when a similar deal was posted here, now it has an extra 3 months. Using it for US Netflix and BBC mostly.

    • how's the speed like?

      • Fine with HD, didn't experience that much of a buffering. I sometimes have to contact the support for a working server for Netflix, but most of the time it works.

    • Hi, how do you get access to BBC iPlayer? Do you have to create an account? is there a subscription fee for either iTV or BBC, or are they both free for users within the UK?

I went to their website last week, and from what I gathered, I assume I had to create an account while using either a VPN or a Smart DNS to access the BBC content? Can someone explain to me what I have to do exactly? You could send me a private message if you don't want to post here in the main topic. Is there much on demand content, or is it just a catch up service with the latest episodes from new seasons of shows?

Also, I have Surfshark VPN which I got a few months ago, but it didn't seem to work for the content I wanted to stream, so I went back to Windscribe and renewed my subscription with them too.

  • Sorry, I'm only seeing 25 months…how do I find the 39 months version?

  • I just signed up, using LG TV. Speed seems pretty good, I am on Fibre.
The Smart DNS Feature is pretty good. Logs my Netflix to USA, my Stan to Australia.
    Which Winscribe could not achieve.

    • You got webos 2 or 3?

  • I just signed up to CashRewards and then paid via Paypal, does that still work for the tracking the payment? or must it be via creditcard?

    • +1

PayPal should be fine, I’ve had no issues getting purchases tracked in the past when I paid via PayPal.

      • Thanks so much, i'll wait and watch to see if it appears in my rewards account. Fingers crossed!!

  • +1

Is there a way to determine when this offer expires? I'd like to do some proper research on this product before purchasing is all :)

    • It's clearly displayed on CR website

  • Whitelister does not work last time I tried it.

  • Hotstar work?

    • +1

Only Hotstar free content. No live matches or premium movies etc… Customer service has no clue when it will be resolved…also speed is really bad as they only have 3 servers in India.

      • is there any other way to watch hotstar as without paying more money

      • Do you know how they block live matches but still allow some free content?
        Are they blocking VPNs IPs?

    • Not true..
I just watched live 3rd odi vs West Indies live..no issues. The thing is to watch live matches you need vip account which is Rs.350/year. Get vip and you should be able to watch anything live

  • Would this work in China?

    • It does, but I wouldn't rely on it to be your only VPN - some days mine wouldn't connect, I ended up having to rotate between Nord, TunnelBear and this.

  • +1

I tried this out last week, however had to cancel as it is not compatible with Skype 4 Business and as I WFH no good for me.

Anyone know of there's any Nord VPN deals about?

  • -1

A vpn provider for 10 dollars, you get what u pay for, just sain!

    • Whatever you are sain i is not getin !

  • I've been using surfshark for most of this year. Worked perfectly on every device, very happy.

Its ad blocking feature on the mobile app is also pretty great.

    • Really? I've only been using it a couple of weeks and I've had proxy issues a couple of times when trying to use it on my smart TV, phone and Ipad (that takes a lot of mucking around to get working again or having to contact surfshark & wait for when it's fixed). The computer seems to work fine everytime I've used it though.

Amazon Prime only works on the computer for anyone interested in getting it for that.

Can anyone confirm that they ended up getting the actual dollars from cashrewards from previous deals? I can see it tracked and I'm hoping I end up with the actual $$$ seeing that's the main reason I tried it out and if I wasn't going to get the $$$ back, I'd probably do the money back cancellation they offer and try a different service…

  • Anyone received tracking email yet? It took a bunch of goes for it to go through on my 28 degrees MasterCard.

    • I haven't see anything yet on cashrewards but it's my 1st time trying it out

  • are you protected though actual vpn protocols ? which one?
or is u just getting fast internet, 4 you to decide

  • This or Nord?

  • I changed from nord to this on cyber Monday, been pretty happy so far. Haven't had any dramas to speak of. Occasionally using for us Netflix and has worked every time. Probably full hd not 4k but looks fine regardless.

  • Bought this on last deal and been using it primarily for US Netflix on my smart tv on a daily basis with no issues (using router setup config). I switched from PureVPN to this and have not looked back

  • I came over from PIA from the previous deal. Use it mainly for US Netflix, BBC, and others.

The interface is not as nice as PIA but it never lets me down with US Netflix and the speeds are quite good.

  • how do you get $99? its shows $109 when paying with paypal.

    • I thought the increase was when checking out it added V.A.T? which increased the cost.
      That's what I thought. Either way I think it's cheap for 39 months :)

  • I had a lot of trouble getting this going. I signed up for the 39 months and even got the cashrewards track email. On using it, i found it extremely slow.
I tried many US locations for Netflix but 4k content took for ever to load. SmartDNS would buffer up to 20-24% and then stall. The only way i could get Netflix US going on my smart TV was by using OpenVPN but it would crawl again. I was getting between 1 and 5 mbps on a telstra cable (100-115 mbps) connection. I tried various connection strategies (L2TP, switching primary and secondary DNS etc. )with live chat but he too gave up in the end and refunded my subscription. Hotstar streaming on high quality does not work too. I would not recommend this for streaming.
