Thanks for the heads up, I bought the exact same one a year back and it never had any problem, I'm thinking getting a second one for backup but your comment makes me think twice lol…
I have 3 of these cards, bought from MSY. Being using them for about a year used them on 3 international holidays and they haven't missed a beat. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
Good deal still
Also had my 16G patriot class 10 for around 18months . It's been around the world without a drama .
+1. Good deal though.
Patriot is a pretty good brand, perhaps like corsair. I've got this memory and its been just perfect with my canon. so far.
wish there was a deal somewhere for a bunch of 64GB SD (not limited to one per customer), that would be nice.
doh, need a micro-sd
I have a couple of these, in my girlfriend's 500D SLR and my Go Pro..
Great performing cards, great value, never had a fault, but I guess even the Sandisk branded cards will have their faults.. Just backup regularly.
Thanks, will grab another 1 tomorrow
Do we reserve today or tomorrow? Or can we just drive by first thing in the morning
You can do it today, I sent my local branch an email and they responded back with an order confirmation and pickup number :) Valid only for tomorrow though :)
I've had one in my S95 for a while now, has been a brilliant card, quick, no faults or anything. So much so that I bought an LX Pro (the updated version) to use in my 550D.
Will grab one tomorrow, awesome deal :)
Good card, I have had this one for about one year now. I have 2x16gb now so I won't get another one this time around even though it's very cheap.
Can you please tell me what you guys mean by call for reserved/email for reserved. Who do I call/e-mail?
The MSY branch of your choice
They neither answer nor reply, and their account here does not accept messages - found all this out the last time they did one of these deals and mucked around with WA.
i dont think this is a valid reason for you to neg the deal.
I got a prompt reply for the Wireless USB promotion in VIC, so I'm hoping it will be as easy as last time.
yeah WA ppl just too primitive to get special deal and good service.
I was still thinking is it worth for me to try out … guess better not
It is when their deals are not deals in WA despite claiming they are and then failing to follow through.
Got my reply within minutes.
Went to WA MSY today to buy hdd, saw one customer asking for the 16gb patriot, all sold out, but MSY willing to accept order and pick up at later time at 15 dollars (only if u queue up for like 15-20 min and disappointed that all had been sold out).
lol @ call for reserve.. hmmmmm
I bought an 8gb version of this card early this year for $16 for my camera and it has caused no problems.
Just ran a H2testw and results are
Patriot 8gb Class 10
Warning: Only 7656 of 7660 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 9.04 MByte/s
Reading speed: 16.8 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4
I have reserved a 16gb one today.
Unless I am wrong a class 10 should write at least 10MB per sec, so is this card Slow or your card reader??
I did the same test on my 16gb "A-ram" brand ,Microsd
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 15.2 MByte/s
Reading speed: 18.3 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4
isnt class 10 like 45mb/s?
BTW its still 25….
I tested on my Toshiba L510 internal card reader.
edit: I also ran this test for the MyMemory 32gb Class 10 card on the same machine
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 14.7 MByte/s
Reading speed: 17.2 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4
weird, my card reader gives, 13.5mb write only but 19mb read.
not much of an upgrade from the kingston class 4 (that I also got from msy) I had that does 19r/10w
Hmm, My MyMemory Class 10 gives me 17MB/s write and 19MB/s read using the MyMemory SDHC to USB adapter.
And class 10 means a minimum write of 10MB/s - but most decent class 10's should be getting 15MB/s + Write.
I picked one up today and results are
Patriot 16gb Class 10 13/08/2011
Warning: Only 15271 of 15272 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 12.9 MByte/s
Reading speed: 17.4 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4
Warning: Only 15271 of 15272 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
Reading speed: 16.9 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4
Mmm…interesting results and I thought my A-Ram card is a relatively cheap brand not as fast as I thought should be for a class10, but yet so far it seems to have better results than the Patriot and Mymemory cards (in both write and read speeds for normal class10 and I was using a cheap $1 sdhc card reader. Does a better branded card reader makes a speed improvements?
Maybe someone else has a faster read and write speeds, maybe from another brand say Kingston but without payinng a premium price like the sandisk Extreme series cards, just normal price class10 say under $30 which is max I would pay. Shame that cards speed ratings are not uniform.
REP, please bring back the USB wireless deal.
Still waiting for my confirmation email from MSY to confirm collection………I'm assuming it will never arrive.
Pretty sure it was pickup on that day only
I think you missed the part where it says 13/08 only
Did some research on these series of cards recently. A fair few people have had problems using them in cameras (like canon dslrs) such as corrupt photos plus I saw a few reports of Patriots dying after 3-4months. Just a fair warning you might want to have a look around the net for customer reviews for these cards.
Personally I bought the 8gb Micro-SD version from MSY last week & it's fast & snappy so I'm happy. I believe most of the problems are with the SD version though which is what they are selling.
In any case it's still a good deal but you may want to look around for opinions on these cards.
