150GB standard install + patches, so buyer beware of your hard drive size(or delete important family photos/videos to get enough space)

But remember everyone - f*** Blizzard!

    • +4

Same goes to the whole COD series :D

yup.. was coming in here to say just that.. it is the company's choice to support and cowtow to government that have a bad track record of human rights abuse, the same as it is the consumer's rights to vote with their wallet and NOT support the company that values money above ethics.

hmmm.. decent price. Tempted to sell my PS4 copy and grab this.

    • It won't get much better in a reasonable time period being a Blizzard Store exclusive that also didn't get a physical release here.

      • What's the state of the game like on PC in Aus? Hard to find a game? Has crossplay had any advantage?

        • +1

Definitely a huge advantange, most lobbies I've been in had at least a few xbox/ps4 players.

I mainly play at late hours/early morning hours and was able to find matches no problem.

          • @andigaming: Sweet. I just bought it. Are the console players using kb/m or controllers? I noticed in the beta that kb/m PC players were playing against console controller players.

            • +1

@elli0t: They use controllers and I'm a kb/m user myself.

Finally a PC version on sale!

  • the game is technically well done, however the story is incredibly dumb and couldn’t hold my attention. Not worth more that $19.

    • I found the story / main campaign worthy of the entire $90, where as the game as a whole is just the latest iteration of COD:MW with some interesting changes.

  • +1

Its sad that the 'sale' price for this game is $60 hope others don't follow this new pricing.

    • It's just a call of duty thing.

Activision really (profanity) up all the gamers with pricing.

Because of them we don't live in a super cheap deep discount paradise all the time but a lot of other publishers and developers are giving it back to them by doing the opposite of their money grabbing tactics but yeah it has cost the entire gaming community a lot of potential gamers and money.

We could argue on the flip side that big companies need money to make good quality stuff but in this case scenario the disparity is massive like there are so many other companies that deserve that money too but they don't charge in exorbitant prices but it all went to the big guys who literally gamed and played the market so well done bravo.

Like in all scenarios there are winners and losers but it would be nice if for once everybody came out the winner and loser I.e equality.

I just can't fathom how the highest selling game is what it is I guess that's all.

So many other great games out there that should win that title or share it I suppose but that's just my two cents.

  • How do buying pc games work these days ? I know a few companies have it on their own platform, but like CodMW can I buy from steam or this place and it’ll just work the same ?

    • +1

CodMW can only be bought from blizzard this time around.

Not being sold anywhere else not on steam or anywhere but blizzard.

Other cods are on steam so don't buy the wrong call of duty modern warfare as there are many now (the original, the remastered, the digital edition, etc) look for the 2019 one only on blizzard.

As for pc buying you can buy in store or online on their respective websites and platforms.

Will probably pass on this until it hits $20 AUD or below just no time for games these days and yeah they still do try and charge an arm and a leg for this game.

    • If you are talking about the PC version that will never happen, especially since it is a Blizzard Store exclusive.

Even games like Black Ops III on Steam during the winter sale right now is only 50% off.

      • Black Ops 4 is $35 on Blizzard store which isn't too bad. Hopefully this drops to around that sometime in the next 12 months for price protection lol

        • It will definitely get cheaper can't get more expensive only crapper discounts.

Just depends if you want to play it now or play it later and for me I got my crazy COD fix back in 06-10 so I am COD'd out for eternity what I really want is to play some quality RTS or just any shape or form of some kind of turn based real time hybrid just really good graphics but still really good true to home classic RTS or even RPG gameplay that is what I want and so far nothing has reached that high benchmark for me myself and I.

Driftlands magic revival came close but only really because it has no competition so it was like a fish and chips shop opening in some rural area that has nothing for 10000km in all directions.

They are coming but taking forever because the people required to make it have either chosen another career path or are doing something else right now.

The demand is there so many forums and threads about when we will get our next heroes of might and magic 3 or real time equivalent you know the real time strategy base building unit spawning research and economy management genre is highly coveted but for some reason nobody is able to step up to the plate besides the old school game creators makers and developers have either moved on or are honestly getting kind of worn out by these other genres.

I forgot who it was I checked in on I think it was the supreme commander lead or somebody and the last project he was working on was making ceramic bowls or something and giving them around it was funny to see kind of like the game creators equivalent of a mid life crisis or burn out lol

Still worries me that the games being made today have no resemblance from that time which goes to show times really have changed and maybe we might not be going back I mean we can if somebody with enough talent and man power and charisma to unite all the scattered RTS game devs into one alliance game making powerhouse then we might be back on the map but honestly unless I try to do it myself balancing around work and life I don't think it can ever happen.

I think if I didn't have to worry about financial and social burdens and commitments in life I could singlehandedly bring back the RTS genre back into it's deserved noble light and we could be back in the golden ages again but man it would need to take every single second blood sweat and tear in my life to make it happen.

But by the grace of all the ancient RTS heroes do I want to do it I will do it and the entire gaming market will be mine! Muahahaha muahahaha gravitas excelsior!

      • That's simply not true.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/499231

Just remember, by the time it's this cheap, absolutely nobody is online playing it.

In the case of MW, it might never be that cheap because the single player campaign will be valuable to gamers for a long time.

  • Whats the player count for this like on PC? I remember black ops 4 died pretty quickly. I found that i enjoyed the battle royale more than other games

    • +2

It's cross platform, so full at all times.

  • In case anyone's wondering this is "on sale through 7 January".
