First post and wanted to share because it looks like a good deal.

$67 at First Choice Liquor (C&C) for Asahi 500ml (carton of 24).
Dan Murphy's also has it for $67, BWS at $85, and Boozebud is out of stock.
Spend over $50 using C&C to get 2,000 Flybuys points (which I believe is worth $10).
And then on top of that, you get the 11% cashback through Cashrewards.
A case should then come down to around $51.50 (if my maths is correct).

+2,000 Flybuys Points if Spend $50 Original BONUS2K Coupon Deal

What's confusing about it? Apply the code and activate cashback when checking out.

      • -5

Well it's obviously me - is there a guide to "cashback" please?

        • +2

Sign up to Cashrewards or Shopback, they both provide cashback.

          • @magic8ballgag: Do you recommend either?

            • +3

@Bold Eagle: I personally use both, as they offer different percentages of cash-back.

            • +3

              @Bold Eagle: Ah, you're new here - welcome🎉
Lots of information in past cashback Deals.

              Rates vary…
Cashrewards is 11% SB is 1% now.
              Your choice😉
Many sign up for both & choose best oprion at the time.

Read the conditions on their sites so you get paid (no ad blockers, don't click on another site before order placed, only use codes if listed on the cashback site, etc).
              This code is listed.

Cashback sites only get paid if your purchase can be tracked from their cashback site to purchase on merchant's site. They pass on most of the money they are paid for referring us to their site.

And it can take ages before merchant pays another site that pays CR or SB.

Very straight forward, thanks for the post op!

    • Why called super dry

      • +8

Because it contains the same essence as jv’s humour

  • +3

Almost done on the last Boozebud deal.
    Time to restock. Thanks OP!

  • +4

My every day beer of choice. Thanks for the post. Very refreshing on days like today in Adelaide.

    • +1

IIRC these cans are much better tasting compared to the bottle ones?

      • +6

500ml cans are Japanese import and the bottles are brewed in china under licence from memory

        • +1

          Vietnam import

        • +1

Not sure why the negs… the china version does taste different and not as good and i had thought cans came from Japan too

  • +2

Thanks op, recently stocked up on the little creatures and goat deals so have enough beer for xmas, hope to get a deal on asahi in the new year.

  • +2

    My Go to Beer

  • +2

    Bought thanks👍
Down to last 3 cans from Boozebud🍺
    $67 - $10 in points - $7.37 cashback💰

    • +1

Cashback is $6.70 because GST is not included. Effectively 11 percent is 10. Great price @$50.30 after cashback. Note that the 2000 Flybuys points is a single use bonus (I think).

      • Ah - 67c dearer! I'll cry into my beer!
Was wondering why OP had a different calculation. Forgot cashback is calculated on price before GST. Thanks!

Have Flybuys, CR & First Choice Liquor accounts for another case for family member who doesn't drink😉

  • Can you use two discount codes at the same time .I end up getting a $10 welcome voucher from em and now wondering how do I use both (10$ off and 2000 bonus flybuys point ) is their any work around.

  • +1

It shows $64 for me :-)

    • +4

$3 bonus! Lucky you. Depends on local price & can deposit where applicable.

  • Was just about to buy it and then this happened :

The strongest evidence suggests alcohol of any kind can increase good cholesterol," says Harvard researcher Eric Rimm.

Limit yourself to no more than one drink per day for women, two drinks per day for men. One drink is 12 ounces of regular beer.

The hops, yeast, and grains in beer contribute carbohydrates, a small amount of B vitamins, and potassium. But don't plan to get your nutrients from beer, or to drink beer or any other alcoholic beverage for health benefits. And if you don't drink now, most health experts don't recommend that you start.😭

    • 1 can Asahi = 2 standard drinks

That's been the recommended maximum daily alcohol intake for males for a long time.

      • Yes 14 standard drinks per week is recommended max… but here this may be changing to 10.

        • -1

There is no scientific evidence behind lowering the male intake to 10. It's pure wowserism.

          • +1

            @coxymla: https://www.nhmrc.gov.au/health-advice/alcohol

Says otherwise "An evaluation of the evidence on the health effects of alcohol consumption by independent contractors with relevant experience in evidence evaluation
A methodological review of the research protocols and draft evidence evaluation reports by independent experts or organisations to ensure that the process by which literature was searched for, selected and appraised was conducted in a robust and transparent manner"

And here is some facts from their media release….

"In 2017 there were more than 4,000 alcohol-related deaths in Australia, and across 2016/17 more than 70,000 hospital admissions. Alcohol is linked to more than 60 medical conditions, particularly numerous cancers…."

These figures do indeed require a wow.

        • Recommended 2 standard drinks per day max & not drinking alcohol every day. So 14 is above recommended level for health, more like 10 per week. At least that's the advice from GPs I know.

  • +1

That's not bad given 24 bottles of 375 is 45 bucks at bws with a woolies docket.

    • +5

You're mistaken, the cans are made and brewed in Japan, not China.

      • -4

Only cans? This is dumb, but good to know. Thx

        • American water is so polluted with lead it causes brain damage

        • Discussed most Asahi Deals

    • Currently less polluted than NSW. Presumably you're suggesting that the beer must be contaminated? Any evidence you have will be gratefully accepted. Last Chinese Asahi I had was very good. At the Melb museum exhibition of Chinese warriors people were knocking them back by the thousands.

      • Currently less polluted than NSW.

Who are you, Comrade Dyatlov from the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant? Nice Whataboutism.

China still has the worst air quality in the world as a national AQI average and has had for the past decade or more.

NSW will be back to normal in a month or two and well within the Australian average AQI of <40, which is essentially the world's cleanest air.

Presumably you're suggesting that the beer must be contaminated?

Yes, like their milk, pet food, cooking oil, frozen berries and actual past incidents of contaminated alcohol in the country.

Clearly, people who are suspicious of Chinese food safety are making baseless accusations against the Glorious Motherland.

Here's some light reading for you. Bear in mind, those are only the contaminated food outbreaks we know about; so enjoy your lucky dip Chinese produce, comrade.

        • You must be so enjoyable to converse with at Christmas parties!

        • -2

Missed the sacrcasm in my comment did you? To help you out I'll expand: (some) Australians love to provide their generalised and exaggerated views on the shortcomings of OS customs, practices, etc while completely ignoring what's happening right under their noses. For example, do YOU know the rate of "food poisoning" in this country - none of whioch has been attributed to Chinese Asahi as far as I know?

Surprised you left out the parts about Chinese farming with human faeces. I'm well aware of China's many issues, from human rights, through ignoring patents, making cheap and usually inferior counterfeit products, to lack of regulation and oversight in areas of food production and manufacturing. Didn't need your lecture.

Nothing in your comment about the actual quality of this product, made under licence, I see. Why would that be?

  • +4

Thanks OP just drank my last coopers xpa due for another carton. Love a 500ml can.

    • +1

    • -1

do you know if this is brewed in japan or vietnam?

      • +3

asahi cans = japan … everyone knows this now.

        • -4

          My cans are Vietnam

          • +3

@Owgasm: Are you sure you're drinking 500ml Asahi cans. Mine show Japan. Never seen any from Vietnam!

First Choice Liquor details show Japan.

But Sapporo cans are from Vietnam!

          • @Owgasm: Where did you buy yours?
Never seen any asahi cans from Vietnam @ DM, FC, Aldi & liquor land

          • +1

@Owgasm: You're mistaking your Sapporo cans for Asahi cans.

Big difference .. they are different brands.

    • 20%off eBay code + discounted ebay gift card is a better deal - not available

So who stocks Asahi 500ml cans on eBay?
And when is the next 20% sale at that eBay store??
In the mean time I bought a slab here😉

        • Thanks. Price paid really depends on discount on gift cards.
Not available from any eBay stores now.
Bought mine cheaper from Boozebud, but oos now.

          • @INFIDEL: Correct. They only list it during promotion.

I believe the boozebud one is for new register account only
Can only be used once per address

Just found out my drinking pattern of this is magically in sync with many members here!

Down to last 4 cans with last Buzzbud deal.

    Perfect timing.

Note to fellow drinker. For better drinking experience of this, serve it with a chilled glass.
