Cheapest I have ever "seen" it was $525 at JB a couple of months ago. That was overhearing a conversation between a "loyal " customer and a sales guy. Very good system. I tried to buy it at that price but the salesman would do it for me.
Is JBL a good brand? How would this compare to the Yamaha 5.1 speaker setup that was on the front page yesterday? I note that this is a bit more expensive. My usage would be watching movies and playing music from Spotify in a small living room.
10” sub, 35Hz -20Khz . Sub $500 price. Cant really go wrong.
And yes, JBL is a good brand.JBL by Harman by Samsung
Nowadays JBL rebadge a lot of stuffs
JBL makes pretty impressive portable speakers. Flip 4 etc.
For movies I would prefer minimum 5.1 setup though with the left right rear speakers if you have the right space.
Hopefully there is a boxing day sale on the 5.1 version.
Unfortunately I don't really have an option to have rear speakers anyway unless I run speaker cables across the living room floor between the couch and TV. I'm renting and can't put anything through the walls.
Run cables under a rug is my simple solution if possible.
JBL makes impressive speakers IMO but not sure about this system. Reviews seem positive 4+ out of five.
We've had this sound bar in the living room for about 6 months and it has been pretty good for the money. I believe I paid around $450 from TGG during one of their 20% off ebay sales back then. Couldn't really find anything else that offered the same bang for buck in this price range.
i have got this one . infact found out the price as i was trying to price claim on 28 degree card. i got it for 555 from harvey norman. the bass is terrific while the dialogue is clear at the same time. i upgraded from yas-107 which was lacking a centre channel and dedicated sub. the sound quality is amazing at this price point and no connectivity issues whatsoever or any other lag .
How to hear 4k UHD sound ?
You hear it when the salesman tells you that you hear it!
It passes through the video signal
Salesman says "It's amazing how they compress 7.1 surround sound into 3.1 surround for true 4k UHD sound from 3 speakers and a sub." Then your grandmother says "The things they can do these days!." Then buys an 8k tv and plugs all her future 8k devices into this sound bar to make sure she is getting the full true 4k UHD sound experience on the new 8k tv. And bobs your uncle!
Home and Away on free-to-air 7 SD never looked or sounded so good!
STREEEEEEEEEEEWWWWTHH
This one or a SONOS Beam?
I ordered a SONOS Beam this morning, prior to seeing this, so I thought I'd check… https://www.whathifi.com/best-buys/home-cinema/best-soundbar…
Mind you, I have a couple of One's already, so the idea was to tie the Beam in with those.
Based on that, and a few other 5-star reviews for the Beam, I'm more than excited for my impending arrival! :)
This or SL8GY / SL9GY? And specially the people who own this can you please confirm / comment ontwo issues regarding this Soundbar, which have been mostly reported,
There is one or two seconds delay when ever the video is paused like when ads come etc?
The centre channel speaker idols not produce sound until and unless the sound source is Dolby?
NO to 1.
will check for 2 and let you know
Thanks will be waiting…
The ad lacked specs info. I am going to send the seller a message to ask if its 4K Ultra HD is backwardly compatible with my FHD monitor screen ;-)
I think the deal is gone, sadly.
Nevermind, created new account and worked fine.
I've heard this soundbar has zero middle frequency output ("zero" might be an exaggeration but it's taken from reviews) - can anyone with one clarify? Does the sound sound separated or is it well connected?
This or Yamaha musiccast 400 (yas-408)?
Does this support Dolby Atmos?
Time to upgrade from my crappy QHD audio.
