[PC] XCOM 2 Collection (Includes Base Game 5 Expansion/Dlc) for US $22.99 (~AU $33.48) @ Chrono.gg

80

I didn't put the AUD price as it varies obviously and some get better conversions on cards etc.

The XCOM® 2 Collection includes the award-winning strategy game XCOM 2, the War of the Chosen expansion, and four DLC packs (Resistance Warrior Pack, Anarchy’s Children, Alien Hunters, Shen’s Last Gift, Tactical Legacy Pack) for a bundled discount.

Aliens rule Earth, promising a brilliant future for mankind while secretly hiding a sinister agenda. As the leader of a guerrilla force facing impossible odds, you must ignite a global resistance to eliminate the alien threat and save the human race from extinction.

The XCOM 2: War of the Chosen expansion adds extensive new content in the fight against ADVENT when additional resistance factions form in order to eliminate the alien threat on Earth. In response, a new enemy, known as the “Chosen,” emerges with one goal: recapture the Commander. The expansion includes new Hero classes to counter the “Chosen”, new enemies, missions, environments and increased depth in strategic gameplay.

Apart from the XCOM 2 expansion, I have most of this already from steam sales every year.

While xcom 2 had a fairly tepid ending that was quite brutal, but forgettable too. Too many shots that miss with point blank range, became memes. Enemy is one square away, your sniper rifle is inside it's eyeball? 35% to hit.

99% of the game came down to precise and tactical running away from the respawning waves of incoming flanks and platoons dropped right near choke points.

The early stages are as hard as the later stages once you have to deal with deaths and losing veterans, and deal with the countdown timer. The game values expediency, and resource planning for missions not damage/ kills.

More fun than the 90s DOS version, but the tactical model was frustrating and comical, almost a parody of FPS games due to the superiority of THAC0 type rolls and hit chances, range and stuns being 90% of attacks.

At least with dark souls/sekiro and others, tactics work with the player. In this a dice roll will determine success or catastrophic failure and losing 3 hours. Fun for some.

  • This is roughly $33.50 AUD (presuming you have a Visa/Mastercard that does not charge you a bank fee/international conversion rate).

For deals in other currencies, please include both the original currency and the $AU equivalent in the title (if space allows). It is commonly accepted to use the AUD price converted by a search engine at the time of post.
